staring off into Agil's eyes as they set...

i remember the texture of the sky...silk.  a silk of the purest pink, stretching for as far as the horizon went until it became hazy and blurred.  twin suns danced and swirled slowly around one another, one smaller than the other, but both presenting the most artistic grace and the most eye-pleasing of visions.  I sat upon a giant, flat-topped rock that jutted diagonally up above the palm trees of purple leaves that made up a large forest that followed the direction of this beautiful vision, and i admired every aspect of it.  for this was no ordinary sunset, this was my first sunset on the planet kendaria.  1

entranced by the patterns of the suns' movements, for a long while i forgot what my purpose of existence was, i nearly forgot what existence was in general.  for within the grasp of this beauty in motion, my mind became a tranquil distortion...and all thought seemed to evaporate in the humid heat that the distant balls of fire spread upon the world.  no one on earth could ever hope to witness something of this magnitude, and not just because earth revolves around a single sun, but because kendaria itself is something that a human could not possibly bear the imagination to even dream about.  the landscape expresses the most pristine of mystical and hybrid nature. 2

as i sat on that giant rock, i later remembered what it felt like to be alive.  it inspired me to think, to know, to want more, to seek the answers to the questions that my people have always wondered.  why are we here?  why were we selected to follow an evolutionary path that would lead us to have brains, brains that were capable of wondering such profound thoughts?  staring off into this sky of multiple hues that reminded me of a colorful fire, i related to the twisting suns, realizing that we as people follow a similar cycle...spinning endlessly around confusion, following it and allowing it to guide us blindly through life, never truly reaching a solid conclusion.3

it was then that i realized that it was time for me to venture off to the dream-island of dolom zero...4

Author notes

i hope a sunset experienced on another planet is fair game too.

Well, except for some problems with syntax ( using a capitol after puncuatation and some other things) I found this an interesting read. Really, this has REAL possibilities. I'd like to see it expanded a bit. I can see how this could be major imagery. ~~~ Val

hahaha, the title's the easiest part of the whole thing to explain. on kendaria, the people believe that Agil is their main god, and they named their two suns the Eyes of Agil, thinking that the twin balls of fire were actually their master god's eyes. when agil's children were awake, he too was awake, and watched over them and cared for them. when they slept, agil slept too, giving way to Sileria, the moon-sprite that carried agil's dreams deep into the darkest realms of time.

    BOOYAH!

Very unique and of course I'll except it! I'm just kind of wondering where the title came from... But this is a nice story! Thanks for entering my contest and... where was I? Darn spider... let me kill you! Man, this desk is dusty... oh yeah! And good luck!
