"Come back to me! Oh please, Come back to me!" she screamed into the darkness. She was really alone now. Where had they all gone? Tears fell down her face. She laid down. She wasn't sure she could function anymore. She cried herself to sleep, hoping she would die.
"Wake up," a soft voice urged her. She didn't know who it belonged to--of course she didn't, everyone she knew were long gone by now. They wouldn't even be thinking of her, she was sure. "Come on, just open your eyes for me." Who would want her to still be alive? The person prodded her, she groaned. She wished they would leave her alone to die in peace. "At last! A response!" a happy voice sang. She should not have made any noise at all. This would only bring more pain than she already had.
"Leave me alone!" It came out no louder than a whisper, she must have cried herself hoarse. She opened one eye to see if there was any water nearby. A bright light was all she could see. Where was she?
"Do you need some water?" She wasn't sure where this voice was coming from. Maybe it was a higher being. She nodded her head slightly and opened both eyes. It took a few minutes for them to fully adjust. The room was painted orange. This definitely wasn't her room. Where was she?
"Here you go," a sweet voice called before a cold glass of, what she presumed water, was put into her hand. She took a sip, then a gulp. The liquid tasted so sweet. If she were a happy person, she would have smiled, but instead the same sour look stood its ground.
"Wh--Where am I?" she stammered. She dreaded hearing the answer. Life was something she didn't want to face right now. She tried desperately to think of a way she could kill herself, but none came to mind, there was nothing around her to help her, except for her hands. She looked down. All she saw was her bare skin. Where had her clothes gone?
"You are so far from home sugar, but so close," the voice had interrupted her from commenting on her naked self. Where was this voice coming from? There was no one around her. Maybe someone had had her committed. She glared.
She looked once again at her surroundings, where did that door come from? It wasn't there before. She stood up, surprised she wasn't tied down or anything. "Who are you?" she waited for the voice to speak. From which direction would it be coming?
"If you wish to know that, you must first tell me who you are." Was this some sort of trickery? The voice came from nowhere but everywhere at once. Of course she knew this was fraud, they should know her name and who she was. She decided to play their game anyways, "I am..." She paused, who was she? She had no clue, this surprised her. How did she not know who she was? Her legs gave out on her. She silently fell to the ground. New tears fell down her face.
"You must get up child, this door will guide you to your past, future, and present." How would going through a door tell you this? She debated following the faceless' voice to just lie in bed and waste herself away. But her curious nature arrested her and brought her crawling forward toward the dark wooden door. She took a deep breath and turned the knob.
The door creaked open, it was dark inside. "Hello?" She called as she entered the new place. Her voice echoed throughout the surroundings. Maybe the voice had tricked her. She turned around. The door was gone. "What is going on?" she yelled.
Lights of different colors flashed on and off. It was intoxicating. She turned in circles until it finally stopped, "What do you want with me?" Silence. She was abandoned once again. She tried to keep her thoughts from this. To be utterly alone was something she could not take. Fresh tears stung her eyes. She had been crying too much here lately. It wasn't her. She heard something to the right of her. Someone was there.
She walked slowly toward the sound, "Hello?" The shuffling stopped. She took another step forward and tripped over something. She cursed the darkness. 'SQUEEEAKK!' she looked up sharply. A blue light flickered before her. She put her hand on her head, this was becoming a headache. The light started to shine brighter. The light started to shine brighter. ‘You know you want me,’ it seemed to say.
