"So what should I do about Elliot?" Sasha finished.
Kelia pulled out of her reverie, her cheek resting on her hand. "Sorry, what? I wasn't listening."
Sasha glared at her friend. "I asked you what I should do about Elliot!"
This time Kelia sighed. "Sasha, how many times have you asked me this?" she asked.
"Only a couple," Sasha said, looking down at her hands.
"I've given you the same answer every time you've asked me!"
"So tell me again," Sasha whined.
Kelia blew her hair out of her face in exasperation. "I told you, first you need to decide whether or not you like him."
"I like him!" Sasha said quickly. "I mean, I don't like him, I mean...ugg I shouldn't like him!"
"Why shouldn't you like him?" Kelia asked tiredly.
"'Cuz I don't know what he wants from me."
"So ask him!!" Kelia cried.
"I can't!"
"Why not?"
"I don't know what I would say. I don't know what he would say."
Kelia sighed. "Well when you've figured out what to do, tell me," she said, before going back into her day dreams.
Looking out over the field, her eyes focus on one boy in particular. She looks away quickly, hoping that no one caught her staring.
Kelia had liked Darren since almost the first moment she saw him. There was something about him that had drawn her to him. When she had first met him, Darren wore his hair long, in wings, but now, he had cut it short. Personally, Kelia liked it better that way. This way, no pieces were covering his brown-green eyes.
"Kelia!!" Sasha's voice cut into her thoughts and Kelia felt an elbow in her ribs.
"Ouch! Sasha!" she cried.
"I was talking to you," Sasha said, pouting.
"Well I wasn't listeng," Kelia snapped.
"Obviously," Sasha's brow creased in a frown.
Kelia sighed. "Sorry Sash. What were you saying?"
"I decided what I was going to do about Elliot."
"What?" Kelia asked, knowing she wouldn't be left alone until then.
"I'm gonna call him tonight. We'll talk. I'll see how he acts. Then I'll decide what to do."
"Okay," Kelia said.
"Well, is that a good idea, or what?" Sasha persisted.
"It's a great idea," Kelia reassured her friend.
Sasha sat back, satisfied. "Thanks."
Kelia stretched and got up. "I'm going to go play football, you wanna come?"
Sasha shook her head. "I'll stay here," she said.
Kelia rolled her eyes. She knew that in minutes, guys would be flocking around Sasha. She was just that kind of girl. Guys seemed attracted to her teasing, her profanities, her red hair, blue eyes and bright smile.
