The magician approached the gate in a dream
holding his cat
A giant hand floated there
five fingers spread as if to say STOP.
The magician knew the answer
he spread his fingers as well and touched his thumb to
his palm twice.
The giant hand responded by holding up two fingers
like a peace sign.
The magician held up his middle finger with
the other fingers pointing towards the gate.
as if to say "fuck you" to whatever was behind him.
The giant hand held up its index finger and the hand
moved and pointed to the right.
There on the gate where 4 small lights
which the magician knew must be touched together
3 above and one below.
he shifted the cat and touched them
pinky and thumb for the lower and the other three
fingers touched the above three lights
The magician and the cat were gone
having stepped into the abyss
off to explore the unkown and live the
hitch hikers guide to the galaxy.
having left behind the cities that burned
as people fought in the streets.

Um... well this is a nice little dabble, I suppose. Never read any of those books or watched the movie, but I heard it was entertaining. Nonetheless, this entry is far too short for my contest. I asked for around 1,500 words at the least. Thank you for entering, though. You can remove this (or edit it) and submit a story of proper length. Thanks!
