What food and medicine did the aboriginals eat?

Over the past few weeks I have been studying about different aboriginal foods and medicines. Here is what I have to say.

The aboriginals used many different natural foods and medicines from the bush. First, I will talk about medicines and then food. The natural medicines can be taken in many different ways. Some can be drunk or eaten like Bunaangu sap and the Rock Fuschia Bush, some can be inhaled like the Headache Vine and many other ways. One of my favourite medicines is the anti-septic bark of the Paper Bark Tree, which you can wrap around an open wound and tie it with strong grass like a band-aid. I have even tried a few aboriginal medicines myself.

Now I will talk about aboriginal foods. Nuts and berries are one of the aboriginals main food sources. You have to be careful which berries you eat. Some of them are poisonous on the outside and fine on the inside. Like the berries, some nuts are poisonous to touch so you have to wait until the right season for the skins fall off. Finally, I will tell you about fishing, another one of the aboriginals main food sources. There are many types of fishing that the aboriginals used. Spear fishing is one of them, and a very useful one for catching big, but not too big fish like Mulloway and baby sharks. The spear that they use has three or four long, sharp, bristles used for a better chance of catching the desired fish. They also use other traps like rock formations and large nets.

That is the end and I thank you for reading it!

Please tell me what you think
