To my Beloved Doll

Dear Doll,

I wrote about you once, a long time ago. I removed you from your dusty shelf and gave you life once more, only to let you return to dust and the back of my memories. I'm so sorry, I never meant to forget about you, I just thought your story was over.

I'm also sorry that you killed yourself, but please understand that I appreciate that you sacrificed yourself so that I could understand my own heart better. I hope that in your afterlife you have found peace and happiness, as I had meant for you. Maybe one day, if the muses whisper just the right words to me, I could write you into paradise...

Until then, I just wanted you to know, I love you, my Doll. You sacrificed more for me than most of my other characters, you understood me better than anyone else, and you weren't upset with me for needing you to die. You understood, and that was the greatest gift you gave me. And I also wanted you to know, Mother loves you. She does.

Love,

Your Author.

I think you had a nice approach to this. The letter format was definitely different, which added a nice touch.

But besides that this really didn't tell me much about the character, only your interaction with her. I did get from the piece that you loved this character and regretted losing her, but I'm not quite sure why. It's like hearing a one sided phone call- why are they saying they love her, when she's not saying anything back?
