“Oh great, I’m going to be late for class!” I said as I started running to my next class, the art of battle. Next thing I know I run into someone. I look up. Oh no! It’s Brio and he’s always after me about something.
“Well, if it isn’t Ria! You must like running into me.” Brio said as he started to pick me up by my shirt.
“Leave her a lone, Brio.” My friend Cobra said.
“Who’s going to make me, Snake?” Brio asked as he set me down. I started to run to my next class but instead ran to Cobra’s side.
“Obviously, I just did. Now leave her a lone. Pick on someone your own size.” Cobra said as we started to walk away.
“Oh, like you.”
Cobra turns around with his fists clinched.
“Say that again?!”
“I think you are about my size, Snake, I think I will pick on you.”
Cobra starts walking towards Brio.
“Look why don’t you just leave people a lone. They never did anything to you.”
“Why don’t you make me?”
“Alright, I will if I have to.”
Cobra started walking towards Brio with his fists clinched and ready for battle.
“Don’t do it, Cobra. He isn’t worth it.” I said.
“He’s worth it if he can pick on you just for running into him, Ria.”
I ran up to Cobra and hugged him.
“He’s not worth it. Let’s just go to class.”
“Yes, Cobra, listen to your girlfriend and just let it go, you weakling.”
“That’s it, Brio. I hate it when people make fun of my friends. You just ticked off the wrong lady.” I said as I charged at him.
My head hit his stomach and I went flying back. Then I heard footsteps and looked up.
“Ms. Ria, what do you think you are doing? Come to my office this minute.” The principal ordered.
“Yes, Sir, Mr. Miyo.” I said with a warning glance towards Cobra.
“I better be getting home. If I don’t Reo will be all a lone.” I started running towards my apartment.
“Ria, Wait up! I want to talk to you.” Cobra said from behind me.
“Look, Cobra, I appreciate you saving me from Brio and everything else but I need to get home to Reo.”
“Reo is fine. I called him and told him you might be home late.”
“Well, too bad. I don’t want to talk to you.”
“Well, too bad, you are going to listen to me.”
“Fine, out with out!”
“Ria, you know you shouldn’t of had to go to the principal’s office because of Brio. You could of told Mr. Miyo that Brio was giving you trouble.”
“Look, Cobra. That no longer works. When I first came here Brio was always causing trouble for me. I told and he got away with it. I may get in trouble but all I have to do is make sure Reo doesn’t get separated from me. He is the only family I have left, since Reo’s and my parents got killed.”
“Well, you have me now. I will help you with Reo if you want me too. Here, take my hand and walk with me.”
“Okay then.” I place my hand in Cobra’s and we start walking.
“You know I have been giving some thought to what Brio said about you being my girlfriend.” Cobra stops and kisses me on the forehead.
“Really?!” I look at him with hope in my eyes.
“I know your rule about dating friends though. So if you say you only want to be friends I’ll understand.”
“I’ve always held a certain part of my heart for you, Cobra. I wanted to be more than friends with you since we became best friends.”
“Really!” Cobra said as he placed a soft kiss on my lips.
“Oh, how cute. The two dorks kissing.” Brio said from behind us.
“Brio, Go away.” We said at the same time.
“When I leave I will be taking your boyfriend with me.”
“No. I won’t let you.” I said.
“What, you’re going to charge at me again.” Brio laughs.
“Maybe you haven’t noticed but I brought my sword with me to practice. Want to be my dummy?”
“Sure, since lucky me, I brought mine along as well.”
“Cobra, get out of here. Take care of my brother.”
“Not leaving you behind, my lady.”
At this time Brio chooses to cut my sword arm with his sword. Then he grabs Cobra.
“One wrong move, my lass and he is dead.”
“ Let him go!”
“Never.”
“Just do what he says, Love.”
“ I can’t let him take you .”
“Go home or your boyfriend dies.”
I head home with angry tears in my eyes.
“Don’t give up on me, Cobra. I will save you.”
