The Death Penalty

You see it every day, the second you turn on the news or open the paper, there it is, death.  People die everyday, from natural things, from accidents, but also from murderers.  And what do we do?  For the most part, some of those people will be given the death penalty.  This isn't irrelevant to me.  I am totally against such a form of punishment.  Think of it this way, you are killing a killer for killing another human being.  Its death after death after death, and its wrong.  I am not a religous nut, I am not going to sit here and tell you that God says its wrong.  Its wrong on its own.  If your cat got into a fight, and got killed, are you going to go out there and kill every cat you think might have killed your cat?  What happens if you find out you killed the wrong cat?  That has happened.  What if the jury claims you have enough information to convict someone of something so bad, it deserves the death penalty (which nothing does) then later after they have spent years in a fedral prison (I will come back to this) you find out that they havn't committed the crime.  Are you going to go Hey! We're sorry! Didn't know it wasn't you, guess we didn't listen! and then everything is going to be ok? No.  They are going to sue your ass for everything its worth.  And think about it, there havn't even been any deaths given for death penalty patients in a while, so where are they all at?  Rotting in a federal prison that we pay for.  There own, special prison.  That money could be spent on something needed, like maybe extra money for hospitals or schools, but no, its being used for the murderers of your grandparents grandparents.  They are better off dying in a state penetary, instead of sitting in a death penalty area, seperated from everyone, thinking that every day is your last.  Its torchter, and is violating the 8th amendment, which states that cruel and unusual punishment shall not be inforced.  Sorry America, but your goverments are doing their job...this is against the constitution, and its hard to deny it...1
