Loyalty Of The Pack: Chapter 5

The moon hung low and full as Leon drove down the deserted highway. After leaving the Half way house, he felt emptiness inside, a feeling that he hadn’t felt in a few years. In fact, the last time he felt this way was when the test came back positive for the Lycan Gene in his Daughter. They knew something was wrong even before the test was administered. Sensitivity to anything silver, hyperactivity on nights when the moon was full and the heightened sense of hearing all were alarms that something was wrong with Emma.Leon pulled over to the shoulder and put the car in park. He sat there in complete silence for what seemed like ages. He felt tired, his body was under stress and he felt as he was being suffocated.

“Dammit!” He yelled, slamming his fists against the steering wheel. He was sure they would help him but that Cleric person was unsympathetic to his situation. With the new Lycan act being issued, it will be ever increasingly harder to hide Emma’s condition. Lately her episodes have been more frequent, more noticeable causing him and his wife to become paranoid at letting her out in public. Fearing what might happen to her, sent shivers through his body. Burying his head in his hands, he let the tears come.

Beneath that silver moon, Leon Phipps wept.
