Matilda came home to find the vase on her door step as usual. Every holiday Matilda would get a bouquet of flowers. Never was there a card for she knew who sent them. Her father, a loving man, was never in her life after the divorce. She had moved away with her mom, the distance was too great.

This Valentines Day the flowers came with a card, “I’m sorry my dear, I must go now, I’ll love you always. Dad.”

As she finished reading the note, the phone rang, it was her mom.

“I’m sorry honey, your father has past.”
