Twin souls

Jeff watched his sister carefully. She was pushing the limits, getting involved with this human. Jeff snarled gently. He was leaning against a tree in the park with hands in his baggy jeans. This was how human males dressed these days. Lydia said it was cute. She said that girls died for the bad boys. Were they really that appealing? Jeff had no shirt on, revealing a tattoo just above his right shoulder blade. It was a black wolf. Jeff also had an icy blue pendant hanging around his neck. He closed his blue eyes and sighed. This wasn't worth his time.

Lydia giggled gently at the boy in front of her. "My brother doesn't hate you. He is just protective." Lydia said, pouting cutely. She was curious. Why did girls long for a boys touch? What was so special about it? She never longed for those fleshy arms around her. She almost found it repulsive. She was wearing blue hip hugger jeans that embraced her lovely hips and thighs. Her shirt was low, revealing a tattoo above her right shoulder blade as well. The same color as her twins only more feminine. She wore a red pendant that hung close to her breast which threatened to pull out of her shirt.

Lydia's eyes found a bird searching for food. It made her hungry. It was time to be going anyway. She looked down at her wrist to check the time. Humans did it all the time. "I have to go home." She said, making it known that she didn't want to. The human smiled. "Want me to walk you home?" He asked. Automatically her guard was up. She was letting him get to close. "No." She said, her brown, near red eyes, searching his green ones. The human, who was called Caleb, moved toward her, wrapping his arms around her. This was what girls longed for? Warmth? The feeling of being loved? She got the same feeling from her family back home. They didn't need flesh to feel loved. Just the together feeling they had. She pulled away and walked off, waving goodbye and smiling.

Jeff watched his twin curiously as she hugged Caleb. She was guarded. She knew she was getting too close. He brushed a hand through his short brown hair. Her hair was the same color, only long. she kept it in a pony tail when she was human. "Come on." He grumbled.

Two black wolves traveled through the trees, searching for home. One had a blue pendant, the other a red. One for ice, the other for fire. The twins were opposite, yet the same.

Author notes

Ok, yea, wolves with pendants. You are probably thinking: "Wolves don't wear pendants." These two characters are some I have used before. They are elemental wolves. the color of the pendant shows what element they control. In this case, Lydia: Fire; Jeff: Ice.

Whats going on in the story is that the twins are curious as to how humans live. Jeff doesn't understand why girls like guys who act bad. Lydia doesn't understand why girls long for a males touch.

A wolves story, there's something I've never gotten around to reading. This one was done nicely, and it flowed pretty well. It was short, but that rather works for this one. I'd like to read more of the story when I have time. Good luck in the contest.
