Draven + 7

Maria jumped up when she heard my footsteps. “It’s just me.” I said softly.1

“Draven, I don’t know if I have the will to give you that book.”2

“What?”3

“Well,” she hesitated,“ after tonight, I don’t know if want to give you up.”4

“I wouldn’t of slept with you if I knew you weren’t going to give me the book.”5

“What? You’re saying it was all a front? You did it for the book?”6

“NO, but that was one of the reasons why I wanted you so bad! Knowing that you have something I wanted, plus I wanted you.”7

“Do you mean that?” she said pouting her lips. This was too easy. I didn’t want to hurt her feelings but what do I care? I have no feelings when it comes to other people besides Tony and myself.8

“I really do.” I could tell she was trying to read my mind but like before, she wasn’t advanced enough for that. I replied to her action.9

“Don’t worry Maria, I really do like you.”10

“Just like? A minute ago you said you wanted me.”11

“Yes, I did.”12

“So, which one is it?”13

“Both.” She was making me very upset. I hate playing 21 questions. Noticing that we were both still naked, I had to give her an ultimatum. 14

“You can believe what I say, and stay, or you can go.” I handed her the clothes. I started to read her mind to see what she was thinking. Her thoughts were so clear, like she was talking to me.15

“Yes or no? I don’t know what to say. He could be using me just to get he beloved Tony. How I envy her. She was everything I ever wanted to be: her beauty, poise and sophistication. I’m just so original; she was unique in every way. Maybe I can win him over.” She looked at me and said, “I’ll stay.” She was only staying because she thought she was going to make me want her more, but nothing like that could make me want her more. She’s so desperate. Now, I’m just after that book. We closed the drapes, and put the cover over our heads, and fell asleep, just to wake up to another dark night.16

When I woke up, Maria was gone, and I started to wonder. Maybe she just thought all that stuff because she knew I would read her mind. Maybe she went and destroyed the book. I felt around for something to put on, and all I found was a towel. I walked out with a slight frown on my face. “Salonge! I know you are here. I can fell you.” At that moment I felt someone’s hands move from my shoulders down to my chess.18

“You called?” said Salonge.19

“Don’t ever startle me like that again.”20

“You got to admit, it turned you on. I felt it.” She whispered. “You didn’t answer my question, did you call for me?”21

“Yes, where is Maria?”22

“I don't know where she is?”23

“Don’t play dumb.”24

“Don’t get hostile sweetie, I can bite back.”25

“Yes, I bet.”26

“I’ll bite you if you bite me back.”27

“Where is Maria?!”28

“At her house getting your precious book.”29

“Was that so hard?”30

“Hey,” she said with a smile, “Remember when we slept together?”31

“Which time?”32

“So you remember both times.”33

“I also remember how they both ended.”34
