UnSeelie Dreams XI

'Pretty pet.' Her pale slim finger glided tenderly down his cheek bone causing him to flinch back. The touch was terribly cold and he felt it heavy on his heart. He shivered as he knelt before Her, pain and exhaustion racked his body and mind.

His blood caked right hand long forgotten, hung useless at his side had stopped dripping onto the white and black marble floor. He still could sense the energy of the mirror behind him or was that merely paranoia setting in. A bitter smile lifted his lips.

To his surprise Niceven caressed the fullness of his bottom lip. He looked into Her hooded gaze but found no emotion reflected within Her silvery eyes.

'Give me your hand, pet.' She commanded of him. He grimaced as tight pain filled the tendons as he flexed it, not wanting Her near it. He didn't trust Her. Stubbornly, he tried to refuse Her command. A dangerous glint flitted over Her face, a small curve of Her lips pulled back to bare sharp incisors. 'Obey me.'

She lifted the hand to her full red lips and gave a barest kiss to the center of the palm. He moaned as at first the hand grew numb then throbbed as blood gushed and pooled for Her pleasure. She lapped at it like a kitten at a bowl of cream.

A crimson dragonfly dropped down from Her forehead and landed on his wrist. He could not pull back as the newest insect invaded his veins, taking up residence under his skin. His hand tingled under the ministration of both tongue and parasite.

"N-no." He stuttered, trying to pull his hand out of Hers, icy pain trailed up to his shoulder but She did not acknowledge him, Her eyes glowed like stars with each lick.

From the shadows came a clicking, shuddering noise like that of a tree limp shaking in a heavy wind, a grey green hoove appeared then slowly a horned head. The room grew steadily dimmer and again he felt the cool marble under his cheek. Something extremely tall and strong lifted him up with no effort and carried him from the hall.

I haven't read that book yet...but it's more influenced by Laurell K Hamilton's Merry Gentry series...and also by Pan's Labyrnth. As well as Lewis Carroll...you will find little Alice in Wonderland referrences.
