Moving on

I leave the pub where all my friends sit solemnly thinking. I leave them all to their selfish drinking. 1

They do not seem to notice me there. I walk through the bustling streets the wind whipping through my hair. People around me do not speak, they only walk and stare. It does not bother me for I know I’ll find you there.2

Slowly slipping off my shoes, it’s only your love that I choose. Sand embraces my bare feet; it is here that you and I shall both meet. Sun sinking slowly in lands afar, no matter where I go I know where you are.3

I watch as you come near, I hear your whispering in my ear. I tell you my troubles and what I fear. I know you are there and I know that you hear. 4

You soothingly tell me that life isn’t fair. But now that you’re near my love I don’t seem to care. I stand and I watch, I stand and I stare. 5

Washing my feet in your numbing touch. I never thought I could hurt this much.7
