The Child Chapter 2

Sebastian and Luc met at Lona’s place on east side of town. They brought Mica and Jon, the only leopards they had to accompany them incase things got rough. Twins, they both had the same easy attitude and the ability to be quick to smile. They were average height but Mica was slimmer with round hips and lighter eyes. Their brown skin gleamed in the moonlight, both identical with their wavy tawny hair to their waist. Both were usually quiet and prone to just observing, when they were on the job, with their disturbing golden eyes that resembled their breast to call.

Lona’s place was clear out on the city’s edge, out of Sebastian’s territory.

Lona, not being as powerful as him and known for her cruel outburst and fond of public tortures, did not have many followers and most were vampire lackeys she created. Zombie-like creatures but with no free will of their own, you could identify them by their cloaks and heavy hoods always pulled over their decaying bodies.

They were led in the large room with a long, glass conference table. The room was decorated with dark heavy black drapes all around it and the floor golden marble. A going fire played in the fireplace on the other side of the room. The fireplace was large and black. At the head of the table was a very cushioned golden chair. They waited until Lona arrived. She slid into the room. Her dyed red hair was pulled back in a plait, and her black eyes looked as if they were smirking at them. She had a very pretty young face that looked mask like because of the layers of make up she painted on it. Lona, turned at the tender age of 13, was only 4’6’’. She barely glanced at them as she came into their presence and sat at the head of the table. She wasn’t as near as old as Sebastian, but Tilya, a council member was fond of her, so she got her own territory. She placed a very long red nail up to the corner of her very red mouth and smirked at them.

“What brings you gentlemen, to my side of hell?”

They bowed before Sebastian stepped forward.

“Beautiful Lona, we have come to ask of you a most humble favor.”

She leaned forward, looking slightly bored but as if she were faking interest for their benefit as she winkled her small button nose. Her most powerful and trusted forever companion, Sirius, one of her vampire lackeys came to appear at her side.

“Priez disent vous ont vu le petit enfant des vampires et des shapeshifters?”

She blinked at him before she leaned back in her chair, and then turned back to him.

“Not at all. I have no clue, where The Child is. Why you ask such a question?”

“Because it seems she has gone missing.” Replied Luc, dryly.

“Missing. Oh, how unfortunate the little mutt is-“

“That mutt is more powerful then all of us in this room combined.” Hissed Luc, tiring of the polite way his master was treating the rut. Sebastian threw him a look before he turned back to Lona, who was looking physically sick at Luc’s outburst, since she obviously felt he was beneath her.

“Rude Child. I could torture him for you, if you would like Sebastian.” She offered, looking more then happy to.

Mica and Jon growled deep in their throats, and she shot them looks. But they didn’t back down, but they didn’t challenge her by stepping forward either. Sebastian sighed and turned back to Lona, his patience obviously dissolving, as she smiled back at him superiorly. Suddenly, he reached at his hand, and her little body was yanked from her chair to him. Her neck in his hand. Her small hands went up to dig her nails in his hands on her throat, scratching his hand with her long nails.

“Okay, Lona. I have tried to use courtly ways with you, but they did not work and I have no patience for this. Tell me where The Child is or I will kill you.”

“The council-“ she just barely coughed out. He smirked, squeezing her neck harder and he felt one of her neck bones break underneath the pressure of his fingers.

“Sebastian.” Luc said quietly, and he let up on the pressure without looking back at his second in command.

“Would never know. I’d make it look like one of your lackey’s accidentally killed you.”

Terror filled those cruel beady black eyes. Sirius tried to fly at him but quickly jumped on by Mica, who had shifted to a leopard. She grabbed him by the back of the neck with her teeth and he screamed.

“Now I will ask again, where is The Child?”

She turned to her head as much as she could toward Sirius and he chuckled releasing her.

“I get it. You didn’t know at all. You had Sirius, do everything and leave you in the blank, because you knew I’d come question you. But you must learn this isn’t court and sometimes we have different rules here and I doubt the council will be satisfied to know you tried to break The Child for your own benefit.”

But he doubt she heard him for she lied on the ground holding her broken neck, and screaming in pain as it began to heal itself. They turned to leave, as her screams filled the large room which they rung out loudly in. Mica dragged Sirius, limp body out behind them, still in her leopard form.

Amy sat in her own filth. She felt as she would die, and Sirius hasn’t come in a while. Maybe he finally decided to leave me here to die, she thought as she shivered from the cold. She looked down at her darken toes, that she could no longer feel. She was afraid that she might have frostbite. A giggle escaped her blue lips. Frosted Bite, bite frosted, she thought, her eyes closed as she thought, of frosted flakes of all things. Suddenly the door opened and a inhumanly hiss came from her mouth as she curled into a ball to protect herself from the bright light. She didn’t think it was Sirius because it was too many footsteps that followed the door opening. She peeked from her hair to see pale hands reaching for her and she shrieked, huddling closer to the corner. There was some rattling of her shackle on her ankle before she was free of the cold metal. Then someone cooing in a low voice to her, that made her body relax as someone grabbed her up they would a baby, holding her close to a warm body and her head fall on the person’s chest.

“It’ll be okay, The Child.”

“The Child…” She murmured questionably. Gentle fingers pushed her hair aside. She snuggled as close as she could to the warm body that held her.

“You are The Child.”

Then there was nothing
