Lorenz’s Butterfly

All the birds and insects and flying mammals are now gone. They have been gone for years. The airplanes and jets and helicopters sit rusting away in vast open fields where at one time the butterfly flourished, that dangerous creature with its ability to ruin the world. The Atmospheric Disturbance police now monitor every inch of the world on closed circuit cameras. Meteorological equipment monitors every moving thing, not that much moving is aloud these days. All the city skylines have been demolished, replaced by small huts. Most of the world now resides underground, less apt to disturb the atmosphere that way. Amazingly all weather forecasts are now extremely accurate. When the weather channel, which is now the only channel, forecasts a balmy sunny afternoon it is a balmy sunny afternoon. Not because of any advancement it meteorology, but attributed specifically to the extinction of the butterfly, Lorenz’s Butterfly. “Does the flap of a Butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?” Not anymore.
