Never Alone

"Out of my way child!"

Even faced with her father's anger Bra would not be swayed; for one so young her will was as steel. With the most serious expression any six year old could muster, she caught her father's gaze and refused to let it go.

"Are you leaving for good daddy?" For a moment Vegeta was stunned. He searched his memory for any reason his only daughter would think that he was leaving but could find non. As luck would have it, she felt the need to explain herself further without his prompting.

"You and momma were fighting; you told her you were going to leave," Vegeta silently cursed his own stupidity. He really hadn't thought Bra was awake during that arguement with Bulma. Of course, his wife knew that he would never leave, but for his little girl, who had decided to wake up and come down stairs, it was as serious as anything could be. Only after a moment did Vegeta realize that the fight had been two days ago. Obviously something else had set off this concern in his princess, because she hadn't said anything sooner. He gave her a look that obviously said to continue, and for a moment he thought she wouldn't but that was not the case.

"When I took my nap earlier I had a day-mare. Two men with tails came; they took you and Trunks away from me. It was horrible daddy! Please don't leave me alone!" Kneeling down, he pulled her to him. She buried her face into him strong chest and cried until there were no more tears for her to cry; a yawn escaped her once she finally settled down. To Vegeta this was a clear sign that it was time for her to sleep away this thing that seemed to have spent the better part of two days building up inside her. Carefully he carried Bra to her room and layed her on her bed. When he turned to leave she clasped his hand in an unusually strong grip.

"Please stay," Vegeta sighed and lay on beside her on the small bed, and wondered if he should learn to say no to his daughter but tossed the thought aside when she snuggled next to him.

"I will never leave you behind Bura," he murmered before he too fell into a dreamless sleep.

Author notes

The first part of a DBZ story I'm working on. Just to let you know...I use Japanese words for the Sayian langauge. This also applies with names. Vegeta calls Bra, Bura when they are alone because it's sayain.

Please tell me what you think
