Disappearing

Louis glanced back at the building he use to call home, and inside he knew what he was doing was right. To free Lestat from the pain, he had to leave all he had ever known behind. His only regret was that he didn't have the courage to speak of his departure before he had left the manor house. No, he had been a coward. He had written his good-bye on a single page of his journal and left it in the one place Lestat was sure to visit every evening. On the parchment he had bared his soul, and on his soul he had etched those words.

Lestat

Please forgive me my love. I finally know how to free you from this pain I've caused; if I remove myself from your life than I can remove the sorrow as well. My humanity, Claudia, these things have been a burden upon you from the begining, and I will not allow them to continue; so I have done what is best for us all. Please remember, I will love you for eternity.

Louis

Lestat's face was a mask of indifference as he read Louis' letter again. His companions watched in a sort of awed horror as a single tinted tear ran down his pale face.

"He thinks he is the cause? How could he think...," Marius dared to be the first to break Lestat's thoughts by placing a gentle hand on his adopted childe's shoulder. Without thought he brushed aside the older vampire's hand and stormed to his second floor bedroom; the only sound after that was a slamming door and a mirror shattering around an immortal fist.

Later that night Armand noticed a change in his own childe but thought nothing of it until he lay beside him shortly before dawn.

"Louis never seemed the type to leave," The simple statement from his fragile love told him so much more than if Daniel had spoken a thousand words. Pulling the younger one close to him Armand place a comforting kiss upon his brow.

"Nothing will seperate us. I would give up my eternity before I would let us be torn apart," Daniel, unconvinced, sank into his lover's embrace allowing both the dawn and Armand's soothng voice to pull him into sleep.

Author notes

Just something I started. It's Vampire Chronicles. It doesn't start at the begining of the story, but then again non of my stuff ever does.

    Just curious

Back in my day, vampires wouldn't be caught dead with a mirror in their house. Are these like "Martha Stewart" type vampires?

I really like vampire stories, I don't get to meet many, since I tend to go to bed very early. lol

    beginning: 4, language: 3, plot: 3, ending: 4, dialog: 3.
