Raven Part Twelve

~Chapter Twelve~1

I go to bed hours later feeling thoroughly exhausted.  It was a big day for doing so little.  Anora informed me that due to the remedy she made up to heal my wounds, I'd get tired or weak more easily until my wounds from the other day are completely healed.2

While I lie awake in my bed, Hawk, Anora, and Aidan take their conversations further than when I was with them.3

"What do you mean she has to go back to London!?" asks my sister, practically shouting.5

"Pleas keep your voice down Miss," begs Anora.  "Raven will overhear."6

"But this... this..." she fumes.  "HE says she needs to go back to London.  What am I supposed to do? Tell him go ahead.  Take her back so she can be killed?"7

"But Miss Hawk," argues Aidan, "if she doesn't go back they can lock you up and you'll never see her again.  If we take her to Mr. Kristoph right away, maybe he won't harm her."8

There is a long pause.  Then...9

SMACK!10

Hawk walks up and smacks Aidan so hard, he ends up stumbling over the couch and falling over.11

"You honestly think he won't hurt Raven after he shot her in the chest," says Hawk.  "He'll probably kill her if she goes back."12

"I never said that wasn't true," admits Aidan.  "But-"13

"But WHAT!?" she yells, cutting him off.14

"But," he continues, "did you sense how well she handled herself in the house?"15

"Yes," she admits, "but-"16

"But," he says cutting her off this time, "she will be at risk, I know."17

"Then why send her back?" asks Hawk.18

"Because," he answers, "it won't make any difference keeping her here if he tries to hunt her down."19

"I-" she broke off.  "Y- You... You're right."20

"I know," he says.  "So we agree to take her back?"21

"Yes," he agrees Anora and Hawk together.22

"If," continues Hawk, "and only if I can stay in London>"23

"As you wish then," he answers.24

"I'm coming too then," says Anora.  "You just might need me."25

"It's settled then," Aidan says, ending the conversation.  "Tomorrow, we go to London."26
