             [Chapter 2 :”When hell freezes over.”]3

[ After walking for about an hour and not being able to find their four-wheelers they made it back to town, but the storm clouds they saw on their way there were now taking affect. The snow was coming down hard now like it had for the last twenty minutes, the guys made it to the Ranger Station.. just in time though.. the storm was building. ]5

Eric ran over to the door with Colt and the dog and jammed the frozen door open in a hurry.6

“ I thought I would never make it. “ Eric said shivering and rubbing his hands together.7

Colt stepped over to the heater and began to warm up his hands dusting the snow off of his coat.8

“ Guys there was a burning cabin in the woods where we just left, but we didn’t find any survivors. “9

Eric looked down at the strangely calm looking dog and nodded at it.10

“ Except for this dog. “ He noted.11

The Ranger looked to the boys and nodded.. more worried about getting everyone to the Town Center to ride out the unexpected storm.. 12

“ Ok boys I will check it out tommorow but we all have to get to the Town Center with the others who decided to stay.. you guys are lucky you got here in time the storms getting dangerouse. “ he said zipping up the back of his supply pack and putting it onto his shoulders. “13

Eric also finished warming up by the heater and looked down at the dog.. thinking a bit before speaking.14

“ Yeah.. hey anywhere we can put this dog over there? “15

The Ranger hurriedly shook his head and opened up the door.. getting a heavy gust of snow in his face.. before he stepped out into the snow he looked over to Eric and said.16

“ Ofcourse just hurry the hell up were losing visibility! “17

[ They all headed back out into the snow and stumbled through the thickening layers of snow.. they found there way back to the large dome like Town Center and slipped in trying to keep the snow from blowing the doors open, at the entrance was a friend of theirs to greet them. ]18

The casually dressed Mexican boy looked at Colt and Eric and laughed thinking they were dumbasses for getting caught in the storm after he warned them about it earlier that morning.19

The boy looked to them and helped them in holding back from saying I told you so.20

“ Woah guys? You didn’t die? “21

Colt took his hood off and turned to him giving him a evil eye.22

“ Sound dissapointed. “ he told him.23

“ Nah but things were looking pretty rough out there. “ he explained.24

Eric looked back at them and reached down and petted the huskies fur.25

“ Im gonna go take this dog into the back and see if there is any dog food. “26

“ Alright im going to see who all is here. “ Colt told Eric before he left.27

[ Eric took the dog into the back.. he seemed to have grown attached to it. Colt checked around and saw that the only people left in the town was a couple of potheads lounging over on a couch in the main room smoking, Jay and Jin, and a shop owner who was sitting down on  a stool in the kitchen in the back, along with a fellow hunter who was trying to find some shells for his shotgun having been out.. an hour passed and the tensions between the men got high.. Colt, Jay, and and the hunter named Mike were all sitting around the poker table they had found in storage. Suddenly Colt jumped up out of his seat and the dog ran out from under the table. ]28

Colt curled up his fists and slammed them down onto the table and spoke in anger.29

“ That fucking dog got out again, Eric get that damn thing, its bad enough were all going to die out here. “30

Eric looked at him like he was a dumbass but reached down and picked the dog up into his arms anyway.31

“ The day I take orders from you is the day hell freezes over.. but I was going to take this dog into the back anyway. “32

[ Eric turned and walked down the main hallway with the Husky, he finally stopped at one of the doors at the end of the hall, opening up the door to storage and walking in he turned on the light setting the dog down. ]33

Eric sighed and folded his arms looking down at the dog.34

“ What am I going to do with you? “35

The dog looked up at him and smiled… speaking back to him in his exact same voice.36

“ What am I going to do with ‘you’ “37

Eric looked shocked and stepped back only to be pinned up against the door.. he tried to turn around and make a break for it but the dog lunged into the air.. the jaws of the creature clamping down onto his neck.. but instead of biting him to death.. the dog dived off of him.. letting him lay there.. the DNA taking over his body. 38

-[ Camera switched to Jay smoking a roach, sitting back on the couch next to Jin in the main room.. he thought he heard a noise, but shrugged.. thinking he was hearing things. ]-39

“ Damn this shit is strong.. hey Davidson, you’re the Ranger.. did you make sure everyone got in here ok? Seems like there was more here before the storm got real bad. “40

“ All but that old mine shaft on the hill but I doubt anyone is in there. “ Davidson replied.41

“ How would your ass feel snowed in inside a pitch black mine shaft knowing the fucking Ranger didn’t even come to try and find you? “42

“ Alright damn I’ll go, but one person will get lost in the snow alone, whos coming with me? “ He turned to the others and raised his arms. 43

“ We will all go. “ Jay said impatiently.44

“ Im in. “ Said Drake, who was the Rangers assistant who had been trying to use the radio to contact help.45

“ Fuck that im staying. “ Ray said looking them all up and down for being so dumb to go back outside.46

“ Alright wheres Eric? “ Jay asked.47

Colt turned to him putting his coat on and replied. “ I think I saw him head to his room, hes probably asleep.48

Davidson slid his coat on and opened up the door waving his arm for them to follow.49

“ Alright everyone lets get going, and Ray.. don’t break anything. “50

Ray snapped back. “ Fuck you dude. “ He turned and walked down the hall to his room, he stepped in and slammed the door shut. 51

Ray sat down on one of the chairs inside the room and punched his hand, but then walked in Eric.. he leaned against the door frame holding his left hand in his pocket and nodded to Ray.52

“ Hey Ray. “ Eric said acting casual.53

“ Sup man.. dude.. Ima kill Davidsons punk ass before this storms over. “54

He spoke angrily.. shaking his head.55

“ Nah.. let me. “ Said Eric.. and with that.. he pulled his claw looking hand out of his pocket and slashed out towards the side of Rays face.. he took Ray down with the one slice.. the slain teenagers body twitching.. his cut closing.. an evil smile formed on his face.56

The rest of them put their coats on heading out into the blizzard, unaware of what went on in the other room, they headed out into the snow making tracks towards the old Mine shaft wish was abandoned for years now.57

Jay squinted his eyes and looked out into the distance towards the mine entrance.58

“ Hey I think I see something! “ He yelled out to the others.59

They all ran to the mine shaft, a shadowy figure could be seen just under the lamp hanging from the ceiling, they entered the mine looking around, Davidson turning on his flashlight and shining it at the shadows.60

“ Hey guys, I was wondering where you all went. “61

Said Eric smiling and looking at them.62

Jay looked a bit dis-beleiving.. he walked over to Eric and folded his arms.63

“ How did you make it here alone? Without a damn coat on? “64

“ This flurry? Its nothing, you just must be weak. “ 65

He said laughing at him.66

Jay was right about to swing his fist up to meet Erics jaw but out of now where there was a loud gunshot that sent Erics head bursting open and him to the ground.67

“ He’s a monster! He attacked me and my friend.. he took her down and began to do something to her.. he was absorbing her.. it was horrible.. that fucker.. “68

The mysterious girl walked over to the corpse and aimed the silver plated desert eagle down at its chest and let out 2 more shots one after the other.69

“ What in the fuck is going on?! “ Yelled Jay a bit fed up with all this mystery shit.70

Erics body on the ground began to change, and move, splitting and ripping open, the now angry creature raised into the air screaming, dripping with blood.71

“ Man, -hell- naw. “ Said Jin turning around and running away72

They all began to run out the exit of the mine shaft except for Jay and Colt, The stoner reached down into his pocket pulling out his gunmetal zippo lighter, he looked over to Colt and nodded, Colt nodded back and ran over to the gas pipe leading to the generator outside the mine and kicked it, busting it open.. he dove out of the way as Jay turned his lighter on and launched it at the gas.. the flames instantly erupting into a huge explosion sening the two guys out, but the huge monster wasn’t so lucky.. it was too slow and it got engulfed.. along with the whole mine, it turning into a huge cave of fire rumbling the very ground they layed on, Jay and Colt got back up and ran back to the town center to meet back with the others.. Jay banged on the door for them to let them in.73

“ Don’t let them in, they gotta be creatures now! I know it! They didn’t get out in time! “74

The girl screamed into Davidsons ear trying to push him away from the door.75

Jin rose up right the fuck out of his seat and pushed the girl and the ranger out of the way opening up the doors.76

“ Im letting them in, they are my homies, I cant lettem freeze to death.77

“ Fuckit! Fine! But I don’t trust them! “78

She said stamping off into the back, not trusting any of them.79

Davidson raised his gun up and pointed it to the two guys heads.. thinking if they were the things that he could trick them..80

“ Tell me the password, if you are really them, you would know it. “81

“ Put the gun down before I beat your ass. “ said Jin as he and Colton pushed the ranger aside and headed in from the freezing snow.82
