"What do you plan on doing with me?" father Stone spat at the gray being. She laughed.
"I haven’t made up my mind yet." She walked over to him. "Why? Have any ideas?" her smiled revealed the fangs that lay behind her dead lips. The priest gave her a scowl.
"You best not kill me, Akia. The holy lord will send thee to hell."
"Ha! I’m already in hell, father." She walked around him and traced his face with her cold finger. The priest shivered from the death that lingered off of the vampire.
"Then in killing me you get what?" he asked. The ropes that tied him down were tight, making him force the words from his mouth. The vampire walked past the priest. The mirror on the wall showed nothing as she passed it.
"I get the pleasure of another victim. The sound of your scream fuels me to kill again." she turned to the now pale priest. "Now for my question."
"What?"
"Why do you believe there's a god?"
"For the same reason why you dont, Akia, he has power over beasts like you!"
Akia scowled at the father's words. "Please, father. I would prefer you not call me a 'beast'. It is you who are the beast." The vampire walked back over to the priest and leaned down near his neck.
"Now tell me, Father Stone, where is your god now?" Then she thrust her fangs deep into the man's neck, the blood oozing from the wound. After the priest fell lifelessly, Akia pulled away. She licked the blood away from her lips and stepped back. Two men opened the door to the room and stood in the doorway. Akia heard them come in but she never looked back at them.
"That had to have been the easiest kill I've ever done." she said, turning toward the men. "Finish him off, then dispose of him." she said and left the room. The two gray men looked at each other and smiled, fangs protruding from their lips.
The vampress sat upon her throne, which was sealed inside an old mansion that was settled on the highest hill of the village. Candles lit the large space, which was once a ballroom. A rusted chandelier hung slanted from the ceiling. This wasn’t the best place, but the vampires called it their home.
Akia had just returned from her evening meal, the priest. She couldn’t help but laugh at his last words. She rested her head on the left arm of the throne while she hung her legs over the other. Her lion’s tail swayed to the absent wind. Unlike other vampires, Akia never turned into a bat or wolf, but an eerie griffin. When she switched back, all that remained was her tail.
Across the room the door whirled open and the two gray men walked in. Each came slowly up to her, in fear of her wrath, for they knew they had done wrong or she would not have called upon them.
“Ah! I’ve have been waiting for your two.” Akia hissed. She extended her hand and urged them to come closer. As they did, she flew down to meet them. “Tell me what your job was today, Dorian.”
“We were to prey upon the woman Sally.” The taller one answered.
“Who was…”
“With…child.”
“Now, tell me, Arthos, how long does it take to take one adult soul and a child’s?”
Arthos froze, he feared Akia greatly. And she could tell. Instantly she morphed into the black griffin that towered over him. She screamed.
“How long, Arthos!”
“About 3 minutes, my queen.” He quivered. The griffin smiled as it became Akia.
“Correct, my servant.” She glared over at Dorian. “And how long did you take?”
“Over an hour.” Dorian replied.
“Because you were…”
“Still hungry.” Immediately the griffin shown again and forced both vampires to the ground. The creature held them to the stone floor with its talons.
“So you went and took another soul that should have been spared! You know the deal we made with them!” It screamed. “We are to take only what will keep us going! And you disobeyed that rule!” The griffin shot its beak down upon the two and engulfed them. All that lay on the stone floor was the bits and bones. The creature shrunk down to become Akia once more. She laughed at the bones, her tail swaying fast. She turned and walked back up to her throne and sat down upon the wood. She watched as the bones disintegrated.
