Behind the Darkness

Emo

short for "emotional." Emo is a broad title that covers a lot of different styles of emotionally-charged punk rock. This site is intended to introduce the reader to all the common styles, describe them musically, and give ideas about the essential records of all those styles.

Goth

Goth is a modern subculture that first became popular during the early 1980s within the gothic rock scene, a sub-genre of post punk. It is associated with gothic tastes in music and clothing. Styles of dress range from gothic horror, punk, Victorian, fetish, cybergoth, androgyny, and/or lots of black. Since the mid-1990s, styles of music that can be heard in goth venues range from gothic rock, industrial, punk, metal, techno, 1980s dance music, and several others.

Freedom Fighters

Freedom fighter is a relativistic local term for those engaged in rebellion against an established government that is held to be oppressive and illegitimate. The terms "freedom" and "rebellion" are often controversial, as often both sides in armed conflict claim to represent the popular cause of "freedom". While external intervening parties, even oppressors, almost always claim to be "liberators", 'freedom fighters' also often become oppressors in the eyes of civilians.

Which one would you wanna be? I’m both stuck in a world were everything is about Emo or Goth. Emo’s better than Goth’s, Goth’s better than Emo’s. Gum battles on every corner. Try raising your brother in a world of black. The guitar banging punk rocker verse the slit and die. I took the honour of being a outcast. People who don’t really care for Emo or Goth. There is no government and there is no law. If someone enters Goth territory, they get shot and same with the Emo’s.

My brother is at that age were he wants to be someone else someone different.

Author notes

Well i was sorta writing this when i was listen to a song by emienm called solider and then i sorta thought what would happen if the world was dived by emo's and goth's well so i started writting and i put the main character in the shoes of a young freedom fighter trying to stop the violence between goths' and emo's

It's nice. I'm kind of in the position of being someone whose called 'goth' when I'm not 'goth'. I don't believe in lables. I just like black...
