The Death Letter ch.4

We sat on the bed. The purple silk sheets billowed all around us.1

"Chris we need to talk...." I said, as my nerves enveloped my thoughts, "do you remember when we ad Hope how happy we were?"2

"Yes" he said," What does this have to do with anything?"3

"Well," I gulped, "um well Chris, um I'm sort of, I mean, I am pregnant again." "Well" he said, "this is truly a surprise. How long have you known?" "I've known for about a month or so."4

"Well this is Great" he exclaimed, "I mean I'm going to be a dad again, this couldn't have come soon enough, this brightens up the day very much. We need a room for the baby, and it needs to be painted. We need furniture and clothes. Where is your suitcase, is it packed yet? We need to pack that, and we should get you some help around the house. What are you doing on your feet? Sit you need to have the least amount of stress exerted on you as possible. Here lay down, put up your feet, just relax. Do you have any cravings yet? Do you need something? I'll go get it." The phone rang, "Damn, I'll go get that, you stay here. I love you, I'll be right back."5

I lay in bed thinking, what the hell was wrong with him, I'm only one month pregnant. So I stood up and went downstairs to make some dinner, and to set the table for two. I open the white refrigerator to emptiness. Not too many choices at least, so I decide to make eggs. Chris ran into the room. He exclaimed, "What are you doing up? Get to bed you need rest, no stress at all!!"6

Practically screaming I said, "Stop! I'm only one moth pregnant. I don't need to pack. The room won't need to be done for another four months. I'm fine and under no stress that is dangerous to mine or the baby's health so calm yourself! I can take care of myself!"7

I stormed out of the room and went up to bed. I pulled the sheets over my head and fell asleep immediatly.8
