Scarlet Joseph: Two Parts Of The Same Soul

Chapter One

As I sauntered to the front of the Great Hall all gazes fell upon me. And within the mist of all these eyes, set a staring so intent that my body felt on fire. Slowing my pace to catch my breath, I began to search. Searching for the stare so engaged. I sweep the room with my eyes. And there at the front of the Great Hall sat the culprit.

Eyes so black, burning into my mind, my soul, covered by a curtain of raven black hair. Within that split second my world turned upside down. For once in my life I felt that I needed someone. My body aching for the mysterious man at the end of the table and yet I kept my destination clearly in view. I was almost to the stool. Yet still so far away.

Regaining my composure, I entered his mind. Flashes went through my head all so terrible…teasing, beatings, and long years without anyone. Unexpectedly a wall was brought up, then a mental shove so hard that I began to stumble.

Catching my balance before I fell completely I looked up at this mysterious man. If looks could kill I would be dead. This man’s look was so venomous I flinched at the mere sight. Again I felt the shove.

Never breaking eye contact with him I approached the stool where I am to sit. But before breaking contact I shoved so hard, mentally that I broke his defense, filling his head with my own horrid memories.

A hat was placed upon my head and slid down all the way to my neck.

Ah Scarlet Joseph…. I don’t think there has ever been a Joseph here a Hogwarts before. Umm… where to place you, oh what’s this, dark magic I see is among many talents of yours. Missing something though, aren’t you? Is that why you fill your mind with all material you can? Such a brilliant mind for one so young, and yet such sad happenings from your beginning. What what’s this? Already entering the minds of fellow students, oh no not a student but a teacher. You’d better watch yourself with that one. But as you have already seen you and he are very much alike. Well there seems to only be one place that you’d fit into without much change on your behalf.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

SLYTHERIN! Screamed the old hat.

Now facing the four tables the table furthest to the right exploded in to applause, as I was now a member of Slytherin. Stepping down form the stool I stole a glance towards my new teachers. And there at the end sat my mysterious man with what can only be described as a wicked smirk.

As I finished my walk to my new seating area I knew that my life would take a turn, hopefully for the best.
