In The House of a Firry Blaze ~Chapter 1~

Chapter 1

“Do you want any hamburgers Rebecca?” Her father called out. “I am cooking dinner tonight.” As she kindly declined “No thank you daddy. I ate at Jill’s house.” “If you need anything sweet heart just ask baby girl” he said. “I will daddy. Thank you.” and she went on with her American Literature paper that was do the next day. Starting to doze off due to the late hours of the afternoon she stood up and stretched. Assuming it would wake her up long enough to finish her five page paper. She sat back down on her silk red sheets and grabbed her book. Just than a strong burning feeling overwhelmed her eyes and nose, it was as if her fathers had neglected to flip the burgers and now were burning. Thinking nothing of it she give into her drowsiness. With her fingers rubbing her eyes and put her head down face fist into her pillow. Promptly after, sounds of her family flicking through channels and talking about holidays past had come to an abrupt halt. Lifting her pale face and removing her fingers from her irritated brown eyes she was in a fearful shock. The melody burnt smells overwhelmed her senses. She found herself wrapped in the decaying security, all comfortable and torn, sitting on her bed of ash a suit. Franticly, she whipped around to take a look. Every inch of that once torques blue maturely decorated room had become a bleak black whole. Piles of ash unrecognizable from its once convenient form drew a blank in her thought. Dazed and confused her legs couldn’t move. Slowly she worked up the courage behind her watering eyes to stand. Rebecca than ran out threw the opening in the ruble. Now standing outside, the midnight clouds covering over head blocking any hope of light, it begins to rain. She turns around in tears. Watching her home crumble and disperse a crossed the dark green grass. Every ash fluttering in the air forced the reality to hit like a bolt of lighting. Her heart bounding and her breath deathly faint she calls out for her family. “MOMMA!? DADDY!? WHERE ARE YOU?” She turns around. Her mind is frantically searching for an explanation. Looking down there isn’t a mark on her. No scratches or burnt marks, not even fried hair. Looking around searching for answers she spots a distant light at the top of a near by hill. She starts to run as fast as her legs will take her.
