Dinner and Conversation-- Ch. 11

I awoke from the dream with a light heart and happy thoughts. Apparently Kailas had awaken during my slumber... She was no longer on the couch. Piper meowed as if to tell me where she had gone, and then I heard metal clanging in the kitchen. I rose from the recliner and made my way to the small kitchen. The room was very small in fact, barely room for the fridge stove and sink. It had only one small counter beside the sink, and at the moment, it was covered in dirty dishes. Kailas stood crouching in the center of the room, apparently looking for a pot or pan under the sink. I must have surprised her, because she jumped slightly and gasped when she saw me from the corner of her eye. 1

"Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you, love." I apologized.2

"You didn't frighten me, just gave me a start, that's all." she retorted, "Do you have any larger pans than this?" she asked holding up a small frying pan. 3

"Um, well..." I said embarrassed, "I do, but... it's dirty. Tell you what, lemme buy you lunch." 4

"If you insist." she stated as she replaced the pan under the sink and rose to a standing position. 5

"I do... Really, I do. I wouldn't trust anything in my pantry. Haven't been shopping in weeks." I laughed. "Just let me grab my guitar." I headed for the bedroom. 6

Kailas went to the living room to gather her things, presumably. I met her at the door. 7

We descended the stairs to the small bar, which was closed, and exitted the building. A small bistro had opened around the corner, we took a seat out in the fresh air, and ordered some drinks. 8

I wasn't going to bring up the subject of Angels until she was ready, I didn't want to risk another fainting spell. It made for an awkward silence though, neither of us said a word until the drinks arrived. 9

Not able to bare the quiet any longer, I said, "Have a nice nap?" 10

Kailas was chewing on her bottom lip, and simply shook her head to the positive. Her blue eyes were even more spectacular in the brightness of the sun. her dark auburn hair shone in the sunlight, she was an angel... Unlike any I had seen before, more beautiful to me than the sunsets over Angel's Walk, and that was the most beautiful thing I had seen on this planet. 11

"Yeah, me too." I finished, and stretched back in the chair. 12

"Any dreams?" she asked nonchallantly.13

"Actually, yes... I did dream." I said a unable to fight the smile tugging at my lips from the memory of my father calling me Son, for the first time in over two thousand years. 14

"Must've been a good one." she said smiling warmly. 15

"It was... Care to hear about it?" I asked.16

"Sure, I've got the time...." she said and sat back in her chair.17

I recounted what had happened, repeating what my father had said twice. She listened intently as I went through my storey. When I came to the end, our food arrived.18

I think this is turning out devinely. Wonderful story line. Continue with this. I would love to read more. I started at 2 and went through to 11 just since I got into my computer class 1/2 an hour ago. There are words that are oddly misspelled and phrases cut out but I love it. It seems my style to read.
