Some people I have to thank... or maybe not...

Firstly, I would like to thank the person who made chocolate. It has a nice creamy smooth texture...1

But then again, I don't like the person who made chocolate. It is very addictive being so nice, and leaves us coming back for more... and the contents of our wallet dissappearing....2

Next, there is the person who invented the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell. What a wonderful and helpful invention!3

But... Without it, there would be no telemarketers, no phone company garbage, and no deceptive phone deals. AND we wouldn't sit there talking and chew up both time and money.4

The person who invented TV had no idea how much our modern society would use it. It is a wonderful invention to pass time and to entertain oneself. And then we have the various consoles which allow for a lot more fun.5

But on the flip side: they can be a waste of time, a money hog, and help bring on obesity, lack of execise etc.6

The people responsible for the invention of computers have established the framework for today's setup. Just about everything now a days is done connected to computers in some way.7

Yet they are a real money drain, and also once again can waste time. They also chew up power.8

Then the inventor of the internet. The internet finishes the framework for today. The internet makes most things a lot easier...9

But then we have viruses, piracy, plagurism, predators, problems with pornography, scams, frauds and hackers...10

But even when looking at the pros and cons of these inventions, I reckon I am happy with the way the world is now.11

Another original one! I like how you think.

I could picture the person at the mike with the crowd applauding and them flushed with excitement.

*claps with delight* Oh, yes, write something else like this! Or rather, don't, because copies are never as good... *sigh*

Brilliant. I don't think it would have even occurred to most people to write something like this.

    It was like way hot.

You mention chocolate and I could feel ya reference to whip cream and strawberries in the background. Wink.

Yes our greatest blessings hold our greatest curses.

If not for chocolate and all the gadgets I would have a pile of money in every room but alas would have to hire a cleaning girl and give her all my money for cleaning up the money. Smile.

A great story simply written. It says something to modern day man.

    Nice story twist

This is a well written piece of work that conveys the overall story well. You have thrown in a nice little twist to the story which heightens the reader interest very nicely.

There is a good level of feelings and emotions conveyed in the story and I like the idea of being thankful for the everyday gifts in life that we almost always overlook or take for granted. That adds a real unique personal style to the story.

Interesting things to be thankful for. I'd really like to see a bit more details perhaps about how each of these items you list personally affects you and why you'd be grateful for it. Otherwise it's a really interesting entry. Good luck in the contest.

*pulls hair out* No, more detail would ruin it! It has to be conversation-style, kind light... It needs to be the way it is! DON'T LISTEN, DAWMAIL!!
