X-men 4, psyclone's story

After the death of Jean Grey and the Phoenix, along with Charles Xavier, things at the school were quiet. The drug that had been so prized didn't last forever and eventually the brotherhood arose again but this time Xavier wasn't there to lead those from t he school against them.1

Eric, as powerful as he was, attracted many more mutants to his cause than were at the school and eventually the school was taken over by him. He decided that, in honor of Charles' memory, the legacy he had started would continue. Eric, Magneto to those of you who don't know him by the name of Eric Lensher, merged causes and mutants from across the globe enrolled in the new academy, along with those that went to the school when it was run by Xavier.2

The school's new cause was to teach mutants how to control their powers, to keep them away from the populous, to teach them than they were better than humans and to grow as a political power. The mutant vote, lead by Dr. Hank McCoy, Beast, grew and thrived until congress was filled with mutant agenda activists.3

Over time mankind learned to respect mutants and accepted them into their society. They allowed mutants to use their powers at will and several police forces hired mutant squads to handle mutant uprisings that a typical police faction wouldn't be able to handle.4

In Charles' memory mutants and humans learned to coexist, though they would most often be secretly talked about behind their backs. Groups emerged similar to the KKK to mutant bash and practice their rights to bash mutants. These organizations' meetings would often be raided by covert mutant radicals, secretly lead by Magneto.5

Mutants acting as human would enroll for membership and some made it as high as leading branches. Once they took power they would kill all of those beneath them, leaving no witnesses. The perpetraitors were seldom brought to justice, that is until the police hired Madison Harvey, or as she came to be known Psyclone.6

Madison had always wanted to be a super hero, but the days for super heros were long since gone. So she joined the police force, never enrolling in Magneto's academy, the force taught her all she needed to know about fighting and trained her to use her psychic abilities. She could sense other mutants and their abilities, which wasn't uncommon as far as mutants go, but she could also make vortexes of psychic energy that funneled and encompassed up to a large bus and held it captive.7

It was the day she had been training for, she was undercover in Purity, one of the largest anti-mutant groups. She knew her mark and was ready as he took the podium. He had power over sickness, his street name before joining Purity was Pestilence. He could make people deathly ill by touch and his time was coming as the congregation lined up to shake his hand after the meeting.8

Psyclone emerged and trapped Pestilence in a vortex but the crowd turned on her, the squad of police swarmed into the hall with riot gear. The swung clubs and gassed the place wearing gas masks as theyy invaded. Pestilence was trapped and eventually bound in a straight jacket. The crowd dispersed and upon finding out their leader was a mutant they calmed down and hated themselves for being duped.

    Good!

This would make a great outline for a chapter story - you have lots of room to elaborate. It also follows on very naturally from the three X-Men films.

You tell rather than show, which works fine for keeping the story short, but you could turn this from a good story into a great story if you didn't have a word-limit.
