The Unlucky Me - Chapter 18

I get up, grab a sweatshirt and go out the door. I start running. I run to Matt’s house. 1

“Its gotta be at least 7 something” I say to myself. 2

I walk over to Matt’s window and tap on it. 2 minutes later he comes to the window and opens it. He has his shirt off and is in his boxers with his hair going everywhere. 3

He rubs his eyes. “What are you doing here Ginny? And why are you crying?” He asks climbing out. 4

He gets outside and I wrap my arms around him. “What’s wrong babe. Please tell me” he says5

“Shane is in the hospital. He almost killed himself because of me” I say and burst out crying again. 6

Matt doesn’t say anything else. He just holds me. After about 15 minutes I let go. 7

“I’m gonna go get some clothes on. You wanna come in?” He asks. 8

“No. I wanna walk. Can you come with me?” I ask. 9

“Sure. I’ll just get dressed and leave my parents a note.” He says. Then he climbs back in his window.10

He comes back out the window after about 5 minutes. 11

“Lets go” He says. 12

He wraps his arm around my waist and we walk down the road.13

“You wanna talk about anything?” He asks. 14

“Not really” I say15

“Ok. That’s ok” He says. 16

We walk around for a while and then all of a sudden mom drives up and pulls over next to us. She rolls down the window and says “Get in the fuckin car young lady. I’m sick of all this leaving without permission shit. Your gonna give me a heart attack someday.” she says. 17

“Mom. You were asleep. And if I woke you up you’d get all pissed off and probably wouldn’t let me go anyways.” I say18

“Get in the car now and we can talk about this at home.” She says. 19

“No mom. I’m not going home. Not right now anyways.” I say20

“Ginny Ann Lee get your ass in this car now!” she yells. 21

“NO!” I yell. 22

She opens the door and gets out. 23

“Get in the car” she says calmly24

“No” I say. 25

She walks over to me. I’m not scared of her. I stand right there. 26

“I’ll say it one more time…get in the car” she says between gritted teeth. 27

“I’ll say it one more time too….no” I say. 28

He face tightens and then she smacks me. Hard too. 29

“Is that all?” I ask sarcastically. A grin spreading across my face. 30

She grabs me by my hair and starts walking. 31

“You’re gonna get in the fuckin car whether you like it or not.” she says32

I grab her hand trying to get it loose from my hair. I try pulling away put it hurt too much. Then I punch her in back as hard as I can. She turns around, lifts my head up, points her finger to my face and says “Don’t you ever hit me again. You hear me young lady” 33

“FUCK YOU” I say and punch her right in the mouth. 34

She lets go of my hair and falls to the ground. 35

While all this is going on Matt is watching it all. 36

I run as fast as I can away from her. Matt runs after me. 37

I keep running. Matt follows.38

We are both in shape. So it works. 39

I slow down a little so he could catch up and then we run next to each other. 40

We finally get to a field of grass and I collapse in it, breathing heavily. 41

Matt lays next to me. 42

We catch our breaths and then sit up. 43

“You wanna talk about it now?” he asks44

“Sure” I say45

I tell him everything that happened from the conversation with Shane to the phone call I got from Lily. 46

After hours of just hanging out with Matt I go home. 47

I go through the door and straight to my room. 48

I blast Lonely Day by System of a Down. 49

My mom grounds me for 4 days. 50

So I get ungrounded just in time for my cousins to come. 51
