The modern dark age

We are living in a modern dark age. I hardly have any friends and I distrust most people. I do not do it because I hate people, I do it because I fear that others will try and take advantage of me.
We live in a very distrustful and disrespectful society. Why trust those around you who rather throw their lives away on drugs? Why trust them with your valuables?
Our society has become so corrupt and so filled with hate and bitterness.
I turn my back on the mainstream society that we live in. I turn my back society because it has become nothing but a joke.
Why trust our misleaders? They are no better. Our misleaders always get us involved in wars. There are at least 40 wars going on each year on Earth.
We are no better than the animals we claim to domesticate and "pacify". How we survived this far is beyond me.
I hate sounding so cynical but this is how I feel.
Our society is a twisted one.
How many more people will die in unjust and immoral wars in this world? How many more people will needlessly go hungery and homeless right here in America?
Will we ever look ourselves in the mirror and wake up and smell the roses and realize there is something greater that we can become?
We live in dumbed down society where only the rich retain power and the poor work like slaves all their lives to the corporate machine.
Greed to mankind! May we be cursed, may we live in intresting times!
