First Kiss

Chapter One~ Raining Up1

It was late that night... "Meav?! Meav, where are you?" I was looking for my sister. We had parted when a crowd of roaring vehicles came towards us. "Mairead! Sister?" It was raining and I couldn't make anything out. My vision was blury from the rain hitting my face and the constant breeze of wind. Someday...I will find her. Someday, we will live carefree like we did in our childhood we spent together. But right now...until the day break again tomarrow and the light seep through the darkness in the shadows, I will only think and dream about meeting with my older sister once again.2

"Meav...what are you doing up here? You know that if Father catches you up here, he'll do bad again."3

"Relax Mairead... I'm just looking at the moon. It's beautiful, isn't it?"4

On the roof of our old house we could get the clearest of sights of the moon and stars. It was beautiful. My sister, Meav, was just about to turn sixteen and I was only a couple months from my sixteenth birthday. We've had boyfriends but it never got serious for me like it got, and still getting, with my sister and Raelcun. I believe that they're truely, deeply, madly in love with each other. They're destined lifemates. But...I was never that lucky. I never really had a REAL boyfriend. 5

She was lucky, and beautiful, and everything more. It became such a big problem at school for her that we both got home schooled. But...6

"Hey Mai...what do you think our first day of high school is going to be? I mean...now that we're going to be attending an actual school. And since we spent our freshman year getting home schooled...well, what do you think? Are you nervous?"7

I simply smiled. She used to always talk whenever she got nervous. 8

"I don't know. I guess it's going to be cool going to an actual school with kids our age instead of being home with Father."9

She layed down, still looking at the moon, and sighed. 10

"Do you think we'll be going to the same school as Raelcun?"11

"Meav..." I sighed and smiled, "I don't know. But I would hope that we are."12

She smiled at me but something caught her eye. In the distance she could see Raelcun, walking up to our house. He held flowers in his hand. She looked at me and I knew that she wanted me to cover for her so I nodded.13

"Thanks Mai. You're the best little sister ever!"14

"Yeah, be careful okay? And don't stay out all night."15

"Okay, I promise."16
