The definition of beauty is the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit. [m-w.com]1
In life, many things are beautiful. People can be beautiful inside and/or out; physical attributes, aesthetics, attitudes, personalities, contributions or deeds to others, kindness, selflessness, hearts, love; all these can be beautiful, simply because they please the senses or mind of an individual.2
Sometimes, beauty can be dangerous; so desirable and addictive. A love so potent, fully consuming the heart, body, soul and mind, gives way to the chance of heartbreak. Yet, love pleases the mind, heart, and senses, thus it is beautiful.3
Beauty can be patterns, knowledge, art, sounds, poetry, or literature. The vast colors of the rainbow, the sounds of a rushing waterfalls or the subtle noises of nature. The pitter-patter of rain on a rooftop creates a pleasing melody.4
The scattered rays of sunlight, the array of colors in a garden, the smell of freshly cut flowers, the brilliance of lighting bolts on a stormy night; all pleasing to the senses.5
The brightness of stars on a clear, dark night with only the moon shining for light. To some, the graceful movements of an animal, or simply even the world of nature around us can leave the mind pleasantly numb. The amazing occurrences, the heady smell of nature, or the breath-taking view of a mountain can leave one awed.6
All these things, and more, are beautiful, due to the potential to please a persons senses. 7
To me, beauty is... simply in the eye of the beholder. 8
