love of a halfling

a claoked figure wandered across the plains. his oversized cloak billowing in the wind, the hood falling of his head. red+violet eyes spied two figures in the distance.1

shaun growls, exasperated, "Damn it. . .Flaed, get back here!" flaed chases a butterfly, dragging her long strawberryblond hair through brably bushes. shaun gives in and chases after her. flaed squeels and takes off, abandoning her butterfly.2

the cloaked figure averted his eyes form the two as he walked by them and adjusted his cloak. he pulled his hood back over his eyes, seemingly afraid of coming into contact with the two.3

flaed stops running right in front of the figure, enchanted. shaun runs into her, causing all threee of them to fall onto the ground in a pile.4

"ah-ack!!" mek'el wriggles out of the pile and pulls his cloak back down. "don't! don't look! wait till i get my claok back on!!"5

plaed puts her hands over her eyes peek-a-boo style.
shaun stands up, bringing flaed with him. "why?"6

"look, just . . . forget you saw me, alright?"
his voice had a harsh acent to it. slightly draconic.7

"how could we forget such a pritiful person?" flaed hopps out of shauns arms and huggs the stranger.8

mek'el pulls away from flaed and pulls the hood over his eyes. "i don't want anyone to get hurt. you can't know me."9

"there is no reason to be scared. i won't hurt you." she smiles, taking her hand and brushing it against his face.10

mek'el turned slightly red. "don't you see what i am?" his voice slightly teary.11

flaed gets confused and shakes her head. "why would i care?"12

"you will." mek'el takes off his cloak, revealing dragon wings and clawed hands. he hangs his head so his brown hair covers his eyes.13

flaed rund behind him and starts playing with his wings. shaun shruggs.14

mek'el stared at flaed+shaun in disbalief. he rubbed his scaled arms nervously. "aren't you at war with the draggons here?!"15

shaun shruggs. "i wouldn't know. and we are always traveling anyway. besides. . i'm a vampire." he states board.16

"aren't dragons viscious and spiteful? don't you hate them?" mek'el isn't sure of how to react to the acceptance of shaun and flaed.17

shaun raises an eyebrow, "don't push it."
"i don't know. i think theyre cute." flaed says sing-song-ily. 18

"um. . ." mek'el asks incredulously "cute?" he sighs, "well, i may as well stay with you for a while, if you don't mind. . ."19

flaed squeals and hug/tackles him. "yay!!!!" shaun sighs, hidding a smile. " I HAVE A NEW FREIND!!!!!!!" flaed exclaimes to the world, and no one in particular. flaed hugs him again and kisses him on the cheek.
then she sees her butterfly and goes after him. shaun watches her relieved and worried.20

"friend?" mek'el sniffle."i have a friend!!! i'm so happy!" his voice cracked with tears, "i've never had someone call me a freind!"21
