Why is it that the cold stings so much more
without the arms of one you love around you?
The wind, leaving you frozen to your core,
your heart, solid ice,
dead, unfeeling...
Broken.2
Is this what it feels like
when you love someone
who will never love you in return?
Is this what it feels like to
be unable to love anyone,
not even yourself?3
Love once removed
that chill in your heart,
blush gracing your cheeks,
aching from smiling for so long.4
Mistakes
you could never have taken back.
The winter comes
silently,
your only comfort,
your only love;
the one thing you both loved,
together, yet so far apart.5
People change;
Quickly...
like the Seasons.6
Author notes
Lost love poem written upon request for a close friend. Probably the least favorite of those I've written, but those who've read it have liked it.
