Dear Mr. Editor 1
I would like to reply to the story, you wrote about me and my family. How in the heck did you come up with that stuff? Your information was wrong buddy. Sure I’m my own cousin and sister-in-law, but you twisted it up and made me sound like, real bad man. So I’m going to fill you in. 2
My oldest sister became my cousin before I married her cousin-in-law. And her two children are not only my niece and nephew, but are also my cousins. The second oldest sister of mine married my brother-in-laws cousin which now makes him my cousin and brother-in-law. 3
My other sister married my husband’s brother which is my oldest sister’s cousin-in-law. 4
So that made them cousins, sisters-in-law and sisters. My brother-in-laws father, which is my father-in-law, married my mother. So, now all nine of us siblings are brothers, sisters, cousins and step children. 5
That is how my husband became my step-brother. Is this clearing anything up for you? 6
My husbands father divorced my sister-in-laws mother and married my husbands sisters mother-in-law. That is how I became my own cousin. 7
I can’t see how you got this all messed up in your column Mr. Editor. You see it’s easy. Two of my sisters married cousins. My other sister and I married their two cousins which were brothers. Our mother married the brother’s father. Later they divorced. And married my aunts sister-in-law which is my sister-in-laws mother-in-law and my aunt-cousin. 8
There is no incest in this family as far back as I can research. But it has been a trend for brothers to marry other families’ sisters in order to keep the blood line pure. My mother-in-laws brother married my sister’s mother-in-law and each had nine children, mostly boys. Those boys found my family of mostly girls, and we all fell in love and started families of our own. 9
My son is my nephew and cousin; my three daughters are my nieces and cousins. I have three sisters that are my sister-in-laws and cousins. I think somewhere in there my father-in-law became my brother also, but that one is a little confusing. But my sister-in-law married my husband’s step-brother and they had twins. The twins are my nephews and nieces. 10
I have one brother that’s not my cousin though. He missed the ship when choosing a mate, and married outside the family. One of my sisters is younger then my first niece, they are more like cousins then aunt and niece. My sister was my mother for ten years then I found out her mother was my real mother, not grandmother. 11
My best girl-friend is my sister and my best friend in the world is my cousin, brother-in-law, step-brother and husband. He is special to me; we met when we were five. 12
So Dear Mr. Editor I expect you to re-write your story and tell the truth this time. Just because you are my father doesn’t give you the right to stretch the truth. 13
Sincerely 14
Your cousin, me 15
