Later that night, Jack stood by the bow of the ship, watching the waves swim by. The moon was shining brightly as ever and it gave a sort of ghostly glow on the seas. He smiled, for he had finally had a part of the woman he spent his days longing for. He felt wonderful and entirely in love. Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder and smiled, knowing it was Elizabeth. He turned around but there was no one there. As if she had disappeared. But coming from the other side of the boat was his secret foe, Will. He walked to him and smiled.1
"Hello, Jack. How are you?" He said. Apparently he was still ignorant of the goings on between Elizabeth and Jack. Jack intended to keep it that way.2
"I'm fine." He said, and turned around. Will put his hand on Jack's shoulder. With the images of Elizabeth having done so just a few minutes ago, he couldn't handle her fiance doing the same so he shook him off. Will was slightly startled.3
"What's wrong, Jack?"4
"Nothin, I'm just thinkin, savvy?" He declared and walked off. Will was left amazed by these actions and turned to the sea. However, in front of him, suddenly, was none other than Bootstrap Bill, or William Turner Sr. himself.5
He grabbed Will's hand and said, "You have troubles, my son. Many grave and diar troubles."6
"Father? What are you talking about?"7
"You bare the mark of the jealous god of the sea, James Norrington. The same mark entirely. I see it in your eyes and I feel it in your heart, my son. Elizabeth is untrue to you." He said, tearing Will up with all the true words.8
"Father, I don't know what to do anymore...She's tormented me enough." Will said, breaking down in tears. This was an act he rarely showed to anyone but his father, who had the joy of seeing it quite a lot, especially in relevance to Elizabeth.9
"Will, go to her. Tell her these things. See what she does, how she responds." William responded lovingly to his son.10
"Father you know I've tried this many times before." He said.11
"Try once more. I feel something new with her. I can't put my finger upon what it is, but there is a new feeling there." William replied. He ushered his son in the direction of the stairs leading to her deck. When Will turned around, his father was gone.12
Will walked into Elizabeth's room. She was sleeping naked upon her silken bed. She looked like an angel, despite her actions earlier in the evening. Will sat next to her and she slowly opened her eyes. Unlike most cliche stories, she didn't smile. She merely covered herself up and sat up. Will put his hand on her cheek and kissed her other one. She turned her face away from him.13
"Darling, what is it? What's the matter?" He said concerned. She turned to him and looked deeply in his eyes.14
"Nothing Will. I'm fine...You just startled me is all." She kissed him but backed away quickly. Will looked into her eyes.15
"Something's going on, Elizabeth. Please tell me." He said.16
"Everything's fine, Will. Please believe me. I'm fine." She said not looking at him. Will stood up and slowly walked out, giving her one last glace. She was not watching him leave. When he shut the door behind him, she lay back down on her pillow and looked at the wall.17
What am I doing? She asked herself. What am I doing?? and she cried herself back to sleep.18
