He screamed out in agony, and blood trickling down his back and continued to be whipped. People looked away all around me in the theater. At that moment, I felt so self-indulging, and oblivious to how much He had suffered for me. Every single time in my life I had listened to that powerful-yet-small voice in my head, I was being ignorant of His divine love for me. Claiming that "little white lies" were okay and taking that little candy bar nobody would miss from the store was putting the person who loved me most in the worst possible agony over and over. 1
Hearing the same old story about the Christ's crucifixion every year at Easter celebrations and meetings didn't do very much good. My ears, by little by little, became deaf to the reality of it. How much He had suffered out of pure selfless love. Whose face he had been picturing in his head when he was up on that cross. "May Your will be done, and not Mine." were his words to His Father in the garden while praying. He was innocent of any sin committed, and he died the worst death of all.2
They choose not to acknowledge the fact that every time they deny themselves God's righteousness, they're putting Jesus who loves them the most, in the worst possible agony all over again. The very same agony he experienced two thousand years ago for all of the sinners.3
They choose to turn away their eyes at the most impacting moments of The Passion, for fear of feeling hatred of themselves, and their ugly sins. 4
Mel Gibson's film; "The Passion of the Christ" was toned down and still got its R-rating for all of the violence and blood included. Yet it is one of the most godly movies ever made. What does that tell you about what really happened? It must have been really a intense thing at the actual event. He was beaten until if you hadn't known he was a man, you wouldn't have guessed he was one. They didn't go that far in the movie for fear of making people pass out in the theater and other factors also had their parts in toning it down.5

the fact that you are writing about something ELSE and something of great debate makes this interesting as i have heard other conflicting stories. good work

Very interesting. Are you going to write another part? I liked it a lot. You should write more short stories. Very good.
