Earlier today, before I had any association with anyone, I had remembered someone. If you take the time to read my QUOTE OF THE WEEK , below it, someone I've known through my childhood years.1
The quote I had found on the card that came in the mail sent to me by his new wife, Patty- who I also knew very very well. Along with it, was a letter. And, after re-reading that letter, I was pretty much shocked on how I had forgotten those memories of Lonie. 2
He was down to earth, I will always remember him saving birds and collecting rocks from the hills for he had made jewlery out of them.. I had known him for years because he had worked for Pat next to my old house in Harper. I always went over there and asked a million questions- he always had stories to tell me that were always interesting. He was a true hippy I tell you and he was the most interesting person I had ever met and always will be. Whenever I made a new friend from the camping spot my mom owned, I would immediately introduce them to Lonie, he was the coolest person I had ever met. I tell you what, I don't just go around telling you your the coolest person unless you are. Lonie was one of them. (Travis being the other.) Every day after school, I'd go straight to his trailer across the street from my house and ask all about his day and he would go on with stories and talking about life and whatnot. And through the years, a lady finally came to visit quite often. Her name was Patty. She would always bring home-baked cookies and stuff for Lonie and I would always get some to. Patty didn't come very often, probably about once a month. I can't recall where she was from, but I know it was a long ways away. She was very nice and kind. Through the summers- she would send me letters with little pictures that she drew with stickers as well. No, she wasn't my age. I must have been 8-12 at that time and her being in her 40's and Lonie the same.. I knew her and Lonie all my life from there on. I remember the last time I saw them and just thinking back will really bring tears to my eyes.3
My parents were never really affiliated with them as much as I was. I just wish I could find all those letters. I know where they are, but I can't get to them. Yeah, their buried in the yard of my last house in Harper in a purple box...not sure why, but I remember doing that. The first card/letter she has ever sent me is burned in my mind, I could never forget how it looked, how special it was to me, and how amazing I thought her and Lonie were.4
Just thought I would share some memories with you all. Hope you enjoyed.5
