Cole's Robyn Sky-part 5

Cole sat on his bed, contemplating over a math problem. 2 or radical 2? He brushed the hair out of his face. What ever it was, it didn’t seem like it was going to improve his future in any way. Pointless, he thought, utterly pointless. 1

A knock came from the door. “Come in!” Cole yelled. 2

Cassie walked in through the door, looked at the problem Cole was working on and said, “Radical two.” 3

Cole stared at the paper, “How do you know that? You’re not even in my math level.”4

Cassie shrugged, “I guessed. It doesn’t matter really. Math is pointless.” 5

Placing the paper on the floor, Cole asked, “What brings you here Cassie? Obviously you didn’t just ‘hear’ my problems.”6

“It has to do with Sky.” Cassie replied.7

Cole sat up straight, “Is she okay?”8

“She’s fine.” Cole sighed with relief. “It’s just the room she is in just went from white to totally decorated. The weird thing is, the nurse could actually feel the pillows and blankets that appeared. She could also drink the water on the newly appeared nightstand. The nurse thinks Sky will be waking up soon.”9

“That sounds like Sky,” Cole replied as he jumped of the bed to put his shoes on. 10

“The nurse says only you can be in there when she wakes up, so you’d better hurry.” 11

Cole nodded, “Okay, see you later at dinner?”12

Cassie smiled, then walked out, stopping as Cole said, “Table for three please.” 13

It had been four days since ‘the incident’ as it was being referred to by the staff and students. Sky had been unconscious the entire time. He, on the other hand, slept for 14 hours and then found himself bouncing along the walls when he woke. There had been questions, yes, but he had answered them and bounced off before more could be asked. 14

Cole found himself at the nurses office a few minutes later. He knocked, and was greeted by the nurse who rushed him in and rushed herself out. Shaking his head at her behavior, he looked around. 15

Fuzzy, this room seemed to be themed. Fuzzy pillows, green and purple, fuzzy blankets and fuzzy chairs. On a fuzzy bed, in the middle of the room, lay Sky. Her face looked peaceful, and her breathing was the softness of one sleeping.16

He sat down in fuzzy blue chair and waited. 17

Sky opened her eyes. The first thing she noticed was that the room was still decorated. Good, she thought. White is too drab. The next thing she noticed was that Cole was sleeping on one of the chairs. Determining that he looked cold, she made a blanket and covered him with it. She tried to sit up, but found her arms weak. I bet my legs are too, she thought to herself. So she made food appear in front of her: apples, peaches, grapes and watermelon. Healthy junk, she called it. Still she ate the fruit, knowing it would make her feel better. 18

Did it all really happen? she asked herself. Frowning, she ate a few grapes. 19

“Good afternoon sunshine. Ready to start your day?”20

Sky’s eyes happily danced toward Cole, who was now awake. He trotted over to the bed and sat himself upon it. “You’re not going to eat all of that, are you? You will share, right?”21

“Have a cookie instead. You’re allergic to watermelons.” Sky watched as a cookie appeared in Cole’s hands.22

He stared at it, then poked it. “Is this edible?” 23

Sky nodded, plopping another grape in her mouth. Cole decided the cookie was alright, then took a bite of it.24

“Cole?”25

He looked up. “Yeah?”26

“Are you mad about…”27

“Nope, not at all.” Cole looked at his cookie. “I just wish you could’ve told me.” 28

Sky was about to protest when he interrupted. “I know. Policies, rules, that stuff. It’s okay though, really.” 29

Sky sighed, “I would’ve told you, I wanted to…how did the council take it? You know, about the-”30

“Incident.” Cole supplied. “I wouldn’t call it anything more then that.” He took another bite. “Well, Zara was going to charge you for treason, seeing as you helped Foquet get into the school.”31

“She hates me,” Sky groaned.32

“The council took a look at the tapes and decided not only are you not guilty, for defeating Foquet and saving me, you have now reached Velo level. Congratulations…” Cole paused, “What was your task anyway?”33

“I was supposed to go undercover and spy on an enemy. While there, I was supposed to find something to help us defeat him. I guess I did that. And what about you? Are you getting rewarded?” Sky asked. 34

“I’m Velo now too. Aren’t cha proud?” 35

Sky laughed, “Very much so…I bet there are things you want to ask.” 36

“Oh boy there are. First off, Sarrai said you died, but you introduced yourself as Robyn to Foquet. How do we know that? A few days ago, some agents raided his place and stole tapes from the security cameras. How did you do that?” 37

“Foquet didn’t know what powers I had. He didn’t realize that he killed an illusion that I supplied the voice for. I was unseen to him, so was able to sneak out of the building and reappear at the front door as Robyn.”38

“And what about the missing agents? What happened to them?” 39

Sky laughed, “They’re fine. Foquet put me in charge of prisoners, so I changed their appearance after explaining who I was. Then I sent them out on vacation. They’ll be back in a week or so.” 40

“Lucky them! I wish I hadn’t tried so hard not to get caught.” Cole grinned. “The one thing that’s been bothering me is when you defeated Foquet, the blue power went inside of you. What’s the difference now? Are you okay?” 41

Sky’s green eyes hardened. She went quiet for a moment as she searched herself. “I feel it there. It nearly doubles my own, there’s so much of it. It scares me to have it in there. It doesn’t feel right.” She frowned. “I’m sure it’s okay though.” 42

“I missed you Sky. While you were gone.” Cole said as the returning nurse asked him to leave. 43

Sky smiled at him, shaking off the frown. “I thought of you everyday.” 44

Cole felt his heart warm, then said, “Come to dinner tonight, I want you to meet Cassie. I think you’d like her. Then maybe to the library?” 45

Sky’s eyes sparkled, “Sure. I’d like that.”46

The nurse shooed Cole out of the room. As he walked down the hallway to his room, he thought, table for three at dinner tonight. Table for three.47
