the loss of everthing(part 2)

With the summer nearing it's end. Joesph panicked. He couldn't get her off his mind. They still found ways to be around eachother. Though without retailing what they had and felt into words. They both understood that words only complicated things. 1

   "With the summer almost over, I just need to know...." says Joesph2

   " What is it.." says Kay3

   "Will we ever talk again, when this summer ends?" asks Joesph undauntingly starring easily into her eyes. her eyes were a golden brown. As was her hair. He could get lost in her eyes, and in her hair. In the sun her locks turned a beautiful blonde. At times just the sight of her, made Joesph weep. It was beautiful and tragic all rolled up into one. Would the heavens ever allow these two to enter into eachother and through each other?4

   "I don't know?" she says5

   Only about a month before thay had planned to go back to her house. Though the trip got canceled because they both over slept?!6

   The summer had come and gone. They talked daily through emails. Back and forth. they talked about anything and everything. He had been back in clevealnd, for a week. And it seemed as though nothing had changed- when he thought everything had changed. They talked without end.Sometimes on the phone as well. 7

   "Hey it's you..." he said8

   "Ya it's me...I just wanted to call you, cause were friends...right?! I was just bored, and i though I call you." she said "So whats up?"9

   "Well you know that poem that we wrote this past summer?...." he said10

    "Oh ya of course.....Kays limerick...I love it....." she says11

    "I'm gladd you say that.." he says12

     "Why?" she asks13

     '...because that poem we wrote together, won $250..." he said confused.14

    "that is awesome... i am so proud of you." she says15

    "But you wrote it to, it is yours. Your getting half the money.." he sings16

   "I don't care about that, I am just glad this happened for you- you deserve it." she says17

    He couldn't seem to understand what was going on. She didn't care about the money. He couldn't understand why this was happening now, and with her. He adored her with everything he had. Though he still didn't want to make anything out of it. They had a solid friendship. Which came to mean more then anything to him in the world. He understood this more and more. He came to understand her birthday gift to him. Which came after the letter he wrote her. She gave him a gecko necklace. Which she said represented letting go, which he had a lot of that to do. And a hand made birthday card from the Denny's caryons they took one night.18

  It hit him in the gut without words. She was something special- he just couldn't ever let her go. Whether in good times or bad.......34

    They hopped out of the car, though saying no words. Something had chilled between them. Kay held onto Sarah, and Joesph went his own way.36

   "We are leaving in one hour- so stay around. Don't make me come look for you." she said37

   "Yes mom." he said38

   "Wise ass." she saysas he mocks her walking away. "What is wrong with you?"39

  He floats around the mall. He gravitates towards the book store. He wanders in. And goes up to the cashier "Can you tell me if my books are in?"40

   "Last name please..." says the cashier41

   "Laust" he says42

    "um, um, checking.."says the cashier prancing around the shelfs."um,um...i don't see it...Laust you say...um, um,....no no! i am sorry- try again next week. did anyone call you?"43

   "No I just wanted to see if they were in..." he says44

    "Very irregular...You should wait for our call..."  stouts the cashier.45

   "Ok, I guess." he says as he turns around and goes on a bok spending spree. He ends up with ten books. pays cash, and walks out. He heads towards the shop. he notices Kay out of the corner of his eyes, checking out bras. " She is so beautiful." He punches himself inthe ehad and walks towards her. "I think this one would good on you." he picks up a pink satin bra and hands it to her.46

   "I don't want to be bra shopping with you." she says as she throws down the bra. "And why did you waste all your money on books...we are still going out to eat."47

   "Well i still have 5 dollars left, and i thought you let me borrow some money." he says with a smile.48

   "No, your smile isn't gonna get you threw this one." She says49

    "Find, I'll go ask sarah for some cash." he says50

   "No you won't spend all your money, and then have us pay for your meal-" she says angrily. "Why don't you take the books back....."51

    "You fuck this, I am gonna go watch a movie....' he says turning around begining to walk away.52

   "No, No No, you came with us, your leaving with us. Go sit outthere and just wait." she said53

   "but..." he said54

   "go sit" she says. Joesph looks at her, with a face full of sadness and walks over to the bench and sits next to old man starring at the young girls who pass by.55

  Kay and sarah walk out of the store. Joesph follows behind like a dog on a leash. They eat dinner. Though it turns into a shouting match.56

    "Will you stop embrassing me...." she says57

    "Why is it always you?" he says as he reaches down for his shot of yegar. "i saw the best minds of my generation, destroyed by madness starving hysterical naked...i am pure because i am born me.' a tear falls down his cheek. He falls into his seat.58

  "What are you doing? This isn't a poetry reading.." she says 59

  "When i get upset i spit our poem, mixed with how by ginsberg..." he crys60

   "How quaint..." she says "Can I eat in peace?"61

    "Ya ....But I need to go see a psychrist.." he says62

    "What was that?" she says63

     "Nothing, absolutely nothing." he says brushing off the tears.64
