A Dark Love

His aqua blue hair flickered through the candle light, a smile gazing upon his face. His ripped jeans and commercial shirt were only for show. His fingertips slid across his thigh, up to his knee. Thinking of his one and only trapped love. The door opened quickly. The suspect of the door opening was invisible in the dim light and seemed trapped in the darkness. The only reasonable answer was to ask who it is; but that, too was trapped into the darkness.
A young man about the age of 17 reached to the candle, and grabbed a similar candle and placed it next to the already lit candle. His auburn hair flowed to his chin, a red highlight in place to the first strain of hair falling in front of his emerald eyes. His eyes gazed upwards towards the man sitting against the wall. His body grazed the darkness, moving closer to the man.
“Hey. What are you doing here?” a familiar voice reached his ears, a beautiful ring.
“Looking for you.” His utterance seemed low, deep and hidden within the darkness of the corner.
His face seemed pale, caught in the content of looking at this man who seemed lonely and lost in life. The black colored ring around one of his eyes looked accidental. The young man, still standing in front of the candles moved closer to the pale man. His back slid against the wall as his buttocks hit the floor next to him.
“Why do you look so mournful?” his mouth moves beautifully but in slow motion. His mind is lost in a deep thought of that past night. His head drops to look at his torn jeans, the bruise in the shape of a fist placed harshly on his thigh. The young boy gently touches his hand, getting him to snap out of his deep thought and looks at him in deep concentration at his piercing green eyes.
His head moved closer before either of them thought what they were doing. Their identical lips touched; then embraced each other. Their tongues came next, a deep longing for the kiss made the kiss deeper. Their hands wandered across their faces, their bodies. One hand, sliding gracefully across his back, pulls him forward and downwards, towards the floor. The young man, inexperienced and willingly on his back in this tiny room pulled his partner closer to him. The darkness enfolded as one of the candles knocks over, creating a darkness that only they could develop.1

The light shreds the darkness as the sun rises from its nightly slumber. Their bodies are entwined as they sleep in each other’s arms. Their bodies stuck, the morning dew laid gently on them. One emerald eye opens, a smile spreading across his face as he looks at his partner. The bruises and cuts seem faded as the young man rests against his chest. His violet eyes sparkle open and deeply looks into his emerald eyes, kissing his chest gently.
“Good morning, Handsome.” The young boy says. His auburn hair gently lying across his face; the strain of green across his eye.
“Morning…” his eyes glazing down at a shirt that lay sprawled across the floor next to them, a nametag placed on the shirt that read “Luke”
“Luke.” He smiles up at him.
The young boy nods as he says his name, showing that that is his name.
“And what happens to be your name?” he laughs as he says this.
“Shawn.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Shawn.” Luke says respectfully.

    Cute

This piece was very cute and romantic. It got a little confusing trying to figure out who was who, but was all worth it in the end. Guessing the other boy's name was unexpected and added a romantic twist to it. The boys seem so familiar with each other in the beginning, only to find out they don't even know the other's name.

And now I have to contradict myself. On one hand I would like to see a lot more background here. I would like know what exactly happened to the one boy, why does he have those scratches and bruises. Who gave him the bruise on his thigh? However, on the other hand, I like the mystery in not knowing. It sets your imagination on fire. Was he beated because he's gay? Did he just get into a fight? Did he even know he was gay? Was he even gay, or was this just a fluke? Does he have abusive parents?

Good luck in this contest, thank you for entering, and if you change anything, be sure to let me know!! .
