The Colour Green-Chapter Two (Unfinished)

Chapter Two1

Tianna had become disgusted with her Myspace account. Since her and Jessie started their band Jadestone Doll and actually became somewhat well known around the Twin Cities, it seemed like everyone and their mother wanted to be her friend. Tianna had over 5,000 so-called friends and barely knew a dozen of them. The worse thing about having all these friends and trying to build a reputation as the leader of a band was that she had to be nice to people who repulsed her.

For example, there is this local band called Bronnson that Tianna absolutely couldn’t tolerate. They were a bunch of teenagers barely over the ages of 18 that played the cheesiest death metal with the most juvenile lyrics. That in itself wasn’t bad, to each his own right? Yet the members of Bronnson walked around with their chests out and noses up in the air as if they were the best metal band in the Twin Cities. Tianna hated people like that, she wanted to just tell them off but couldn’t because she had to be diplomatic with the other local bands whether she liked them or not.2

Of course, as nice as she was, Tianna was also very deviant and came up with a solution to her problem. She had decided to create a new account on Myspace while still keeping up the old one for appearances. On this new account she decided she wouldn’t put up any pictures of herself or any personal information. This new account would be used to tell people exactly what she thought of them. She chose the name Snowflake Obsidian and put up a few colorful pictures of mystical fairies to represent her. She added a few of her closest friends that she intended to let in on her devilish little secret and then her new account was all set.3

She surfed Myspace with her new name for awhile and found herself once again on Animalistic Tendencies page. It had been about a month since the show at the Kitty Kat Club and Tianna still had a thing for that Ollie guy. Animalistic Tendencies were actually big enough to have a small cult following around the country and since the Kitty Kat Club they have been out of state on tour so Tianna hadn’t had the chance to go see them again since she was way to busy working on writing and recording Jadestone Dolls first studio album to go out of town. She knew she could contact Ollie online before, but she was way to shy. 4

However today she decided she was going to go ahead and take a chance and requested to add both Animalistic Tendencies and Ollie to her new Myspace account. At least this way if she talked to him and freaked him out, he wouldn’t know it was her. Along with the friend request she decided to send Ollie a nice little message saying “Hello, I saw you at the Kitty Kat Club about a month ago and you really rocked! I also thought you looked really sexy in the color green.” She giggled to herself, feeling like a silly school girl with a secret crush as she got up from her computer.5

The first thing the next morning Tianna rushed to her computer excited to see if Ollie and the band had accepted her friend requests. She was happy to see that they did and even more happy to see the cutest reply from Ollie to her message saying “Well….thanks!” with a little smiley face at the end. It was apparent from the little message that he was a bit timid which made Tianna’s heart melt. She was more than ecstatic; her first real communication with Ollie, even though he didn’t know it was her. 6

A few more months had past and the first Jadestone Doll album “Exposed” was finally finished and available for purchase online and at small local record stores in Minnesota. In the band, Tianna played bass and did most of the lead vocals. Tianna never wanted to have a band where just one person sang. It never seemed fair that one person got more attention than the other band members just because they sang so Tianna had a vision of having a band where everyone sang, kind of like KISS. However none of the other band members of her band really had any interest in singing other than Jessie who also didn't really want to sing in Jadestone Doll because she already was the lead vocals in Glory Hole, so Jessie just settled being Tianna's right hand woman by backing her up on lead guitar. The rhythm guitarist was a saucy and fun girl named Drew who was one of Glory Hole's cult fans, and then there was the drummer Brandy who was a close friend of Tianna's and kind of the bands big sister since she was a good ten years older than the other girls in the band.7

As you can see, Jadestone Doll was a motley crew of sorts. Four very different girls with four very different styles and looks in one band. This was exactly what Tianna had dreamed of. She was so tired of the boring pre-fab bullshit. She was tired of bands getting popular just because they had a hot lead singer whether she could sing or not, or because they dressed cool, or because they sang about things like blood, skulls, and the devil. Sure the girls liked to dress up from time to time (except Jessie who is a tom boy) and yes Tianna wrote lyrics about dark subjects sometimes, but she didn't base her whole band on that. She just wanted everyone to be themselves and just play rock, plain and simple.8

Donnie, the other guitar player in Glory Hole was also a booking agent and was currently acting as Jadestone Doll's manager. He set up a CD release party for "Exposed" at the Fourth Street Station in downtown St. Paul. The show was set for August 4th and headlining of course was Jadestone Doll, then Glory Hole and another band from Iowa called Red Hot would be playing. Tianna was excited, sure she has played gigs before, but it was always opening for some other band. This was headlining at her own bands CD release show and it was expected to be big because the girls from Jadestone Doll and their small street team had done a very good job promoting the band. 9

That Friday was hectic all day at Tianna and Jessie's house. Usually on gig days they would all just meet each other after they all got off of work. Yet since this was a special gig, they all took the day off of work and met at the house early in the morning for a quick rehersal and to help eachother get ready. Drew and Brandy arrived at around 10am, both with a suitcase and make-up bags in hand.10

The girls practiced and ran through their 45 minute set about three times and finished at about 2pm. They had to be at the club for load in at 5pm so they hurried and scrambled to load up Brandy's truck with their equipment so they had enough time to make themselves up.
Jessie was merely a tom boy so she didn't have much to do. She threw on a pair of baggy jeans and a black t-shirt. If she had it totally her way she would have wore her twins baseball cap as well, yet Tianna had begged her to not wear it when they were on stage. So instead she put a little gel and spiked up her short black hair, just a little bit. She then sat back and laughed watching how ridiculous the other girls acted as they freaked out while getting ready.11

Drew was the spunky one of the group. She dyed her hair a different funky color every other week and today she was sporting a nice deep cotton candy pink, Tianna's favorite color. Her outfit for the night was by far the most risque. She wore a pink plaid mini-skirt that only reached down to her mid-thigh and with it a pair of black fishnet stockings held up with a garter and a pair of cute little maryjane shoes on her feet. She topped the skirt off with a tight fitting black polo shirt that pink and grey argyle screen printing on it. On each of the pink diamonds on her shirt was a little black skull. She looked absolutly flawless.12

Brandy was the most conservative looking one in the group. She was a tiny bit tom boyish but still very girly, the jeans and t-shirt type of girl with a little flair. She wore a pair of tight black shorts with a pyramid studded belt, a red tee with a black screen printed picture of Captain Jack Sparrow from The Pirates of the Carribean movies, and a pair of black converse Chuck Taylor shoes. She left her golden blonde shoulder length hair down to frame her face. She was the cutest yet most casual looking female drummer any band could ever have.13

Tianna had opted for a bit of a sassy alternative look for the show. She selected a twill olive green military dress buttoned all the way down the front with silver buttons. The dress was slightly tight on her, tight enough to accentuate her ample breasts and generous bottom. She paired it with a pair of black combat boots and swung her red hair into a high ponytail with her bangs slicked and plastered to the right side framing her face. She looked like a sexy dominating drill sargent which was the look she was aiming for. She wanted to show the audience that she was confident, tough and had power. The true ruling leo in her shined through with this outfit.14

Of course since there were three prissy girls in the band, they ran a little late getting all gussied up.
"Are you guys done putting your make-up on yet? We gotta be there in 15 minutes!" Jessie called out after pacing the room, making sure the girls could see that she was tired of waiting for them.
"Jessie chill out!" Drew snapped at her. "It's always cool for the headlining band to be fashionably late anyways."
"Not when I play with Glory Hole." Jessie replied.
"Well this isn't the punk scene Jess, this is the Minnesota rock crowd we are dealing with, they are more fashion orientated." Tianna informed Jessie. "You should know that!"
"Whatever..." Jessie rolled her eyes. "I thought we weren't a fashion band."
"We aren't, we are ourselves, and while you may not be girly, the three of us are! We are only being ourselves here." Tianna said. 15

There used to be a real band named Glory Holes, oddly enough. Will this be finished? I read it hoping for some erotica, but it never came. (So to speak.)
