A story of Love, Lust, Hatred, and Friendship has been told from word of mouth, from hand to paper for only few to read. A story of love that, each time told, a piece has always been added and so, now, I write this for all to know. 1
A young woman named Charlene, who had never known love or affection, but knew of hatred, friendship that had never worked out, and lusts that had made her heart cold and unfeeling. 2
Charlene had moved from place to place, for, the fact was, she needed to love, but she couldnÕt find any. When she had turned 17, she moved to a small town and met a nice young man of 18 named Charlie. Charlie had a girlfriend named Tracy and they cared about each other, but Charlene fell into a lust with him as her object of lust.3
They soon became friends and their friendship grew strong each day, until they realized that they loved each other. When Charlie realized this he broke off his relationship with Tracy and asked Charlene to be his girlfriend, the one he loved. They knew they lusted for one another, but they didnÕt know if it was love, lust, or anything like that.4
Suddenly, CharleneÕs parents died and if she couldnÕt find a place to stay were Charlie lived, then she would have to move in with her older sister, who live very far away.5
Very distraught, Charlie asked his parents, who liked Tracy better than Charlene, if she could live with them. Of course, CharlieÕs parents said that Charlene and Charlie couldnÕt be together.6
He was so upset when he had to tell Charlene that they couldnÕt be together. He made her a ring that had two hands holding a heart that had a crown on top of it, which he called a claddagh ring. As soon as he put it on her finger he said, "Wear this to remember that I love you and I always will." She tried so hard not to cry, then she looked up into his beautiful eyes, that were welling up with tears as well. She said to him, "I could never forget you or how much I love you. I will miss you so much."7
And with that, they both broke down into tears. The next day, they both said good-bye with tears inn their eyes.8
A few lonely years of not hearing from Charlie, Charlene went back to the town were she had first him. When she had found Charlie again, but there was a huge problem. CharlieÕs parents had him marry Tracy, his old girlfriend. Charlene didnÕt care if Tracy was there or not, so she went up to Charlie and kissed him.9
When Tracy saw them together, she felt hatred growing inside. Since divorce was unheard of back then, Charlie had an affair with Charlene, the woman he really loved. Tracy soon found out and decided that if she couldnÕt have Charlie, that no one could and if Charlie loves Charlene so much, he can join her in hell. 10
Tracy then hired a hit man that specialized in killing women who had affairs with married men. The hit man befriended Charlene in order to get close to her and kill her. One day, he stabbed Charlene and left her to die. As she was dying, Charlie found her and Charlene made him promise that he wouldnÕt kill himself. The hit man was secretly in love with Tracy and had an affair with her, so he thought if her husband died too, that they could get married. The hit man ran up behind Charlie and stabbed him too.11
The two lovers died in each otherÕs arms and it is said that since CharleneÕs spirit was so free, that her soul flew into the wind, hoping to find her true love and also to help other people find their true loves. Maybe someday, their souls will find each other again, but in the meantime just remember if you find someone you truly love, donÕt let them go, keep them close, and never forget that people love you.12
