He was always there for her. She never cared.1
On the night of her birthday, he texted her:2
"Happy birthday. Smile always and stay happy, alright? See you."3
She never replied him. It was too much of a hassle.4
Another day, he texted her:5
"Hey, what's up?"6
She never replied him. It was a waste of money.7
It broke his heart.8
'She probably doesn't care.'9
One day, he asks her, "Hey, why didn't you reply my messages?"10
She replied him, "I'm broke. It was a waste."11
"Replying me is a waste of money?"12
She nodded. "Yes."13
His heart broke in two.14
"I have so many others I have to attend to."15
'So I'm not important enough for you?'16
Maybe they weren't friends after all, true?17
*18
Days go by, he kept his distance.19
Everytime he saw her, he was reminded of the words she had said.20
"But it doesn't mean I don't care," she said.21
*22
Sometimes he would see her glance at him.23
He didn't know why.24
*25
He wrote this down on his diary one night:26
"Dear diary,27
There was once a friend I thought I knew well. 28
She was a girl I look up to and admired. 29
There was something characteristically unique about her which caught my attention in the first place. 30
Her charming personality stood out among others which were dull.31
I thought she was different.32
Now I know I was wrong.33
She was a mere passing wave; a part of the crowd.34
I was stupid. I was a fool.35
I wasted my money too.36
Off to bed."37
*38
Days go by, she stopped recieving any text messages from him.39
She wondered why.40
She didn't understand the effect the words she had said had on him.41
*42
One night, she cried in bed.43
Distressed.44
*45
His phone rang, as it always did.46
It was ten past three.47
He checked; it was from her.48
It rang and rang, he continued to sleep.49
'Would it matter if I picked it up?'50
*51
'Why aren't you picking up my phone?'52
*53
It's not that I never cared, it's just that you weren't there.54
I would love you share with you,55
my love and care.56

Author notes
This is not a love story. It's about 2 friends. I used he and she because I didn't want to put any names in here. He and she was used to imply the presence of two ppl so as not to confuse you.
