Chapter 15

Once outside, I immediately spotted Florian flying quickly west to the Kimoshi castle. “Florian!” I called out.1

He refused to stop. “Leave me be!” he yelled back, the tears were evident in his voice. 2

“Damn it Florian! Get your little blood sucking, vampire ass back here!” I shouted speeding up. Just when I caught up to him, he took a nose dive for the ground and dropped like a rock. I did the same. 3

When I touched down on the ground and set Samantha down, I heard a huge crack, like the sound of a firecracker on the fourth of July. I turned quickly to defend myself and Samantha, only to see a solemn looking Florian kneeling on the ground. There was a huge fist-sized hole in a large tree. The ancient oak groaned from the force of the punch.4

“Florian… Sha-”5

“I know!” he hissed through his tears. “I know Shadow hates me! I couldn’t protect him like I promised, and now he’s dead!”6

“Florian.” I said flatly.7

“Damn it! I know! He hates me; he never wants to see me again!”8

I glared at him and clenched my hands into fists. “Would you just shut-up for once in your immortal life?!” 9

Florian stared at me, tears shining in his eyes. Samantha stood back away from us, not wanting to be a part of the fight. 10

“Shadow told me to tell you…that he loves you.”11

The older vampire stared at me. “Yes. That’s what he said! But you are to damn weak to stay and find that out yourself, you ass! I don’t know what the hell you were thinking, but you had better go back there and apologize your fucking ass off!”12

Florian just sat there staring at me and then looked down. “You’re right Jashin.”13

“You bet your fucking blood I’m right!” I turned back to Samantha and picked her up and took off, back on course to the Kimoshi castle.14

“Weren’t you a little harsh?” Samantha asked. 15

“He’s the most stubborn, hot headed and impatient vampire I know.” I paused and turned my head to see Florian flying back to where Shadow was staying. “No, no I wasn’t.” 16
