My Life (Junior year)

My depression and bulimia kept on for a couple more months into the school year. Two of my friends wanted me to get help. I didn’t want help, but they gave me an ultimatum. Either go to the counselor, or they were going to tell my mom for me. Since I couldn’t face my mom, Chelsea took me to the counselor.1

I told the counselor what was going on. She called my mom and she rushed to school. My mom took me to the hospital where I was tested for depression. I spent two hours there, then we left to get something to eat. Then my mom took me to a therapist. I went to my therapist for about two months.2

It took me about four months to realize that I needed to change my life around. Towards the end of February, there was going to be this Christian concert. Tonya came to school and asked me if I wanted to go. I spent all weekend trying to convince my mom to let me go. Sunday night she finally agreed to let me go. 3

I was so happy and excited. The previous weekend I had let Jesus back into my life. Tonya knew I had. On the way back to her house she said she was so glad to see me having fun. She missed that part of me. For the rest of the school year I read my bible constantly and praised Jesus as often as I could.4

Around that same time one of my friends started to like me. I also liked him, but I was scared to ask him. For the first time in my life I felt how all my friends felt. I was scared, but I knew I had to ask him. I was too nervous to ask him to his face, so I wrote him a note.5

He came back to school the next day and said yes. I was so happy and excited. All my emotions in me were making me smile, like I do when I praise God…
