The Unlucky Me - Chapter 13

Someone opens the door. A girl stands in the doorway, her mouth wide open. 1

“Ginny, you look…….amazing!” she says2

“Thanks Kylie” I say smiling. 3

I step into Matt’s house and walk past Kylie. 4

I hear whispers and gasps everywhere I go. I walk over to the drinks, I grab I cup of water. 5

I turn around and see Matt walking towards me, his eyes wide. He walks up to me and says “Wow Gin, you look beautiful” 6

I blush and say “Thanks” quietly. 7

We walk over a couch and sit down. 8

“So did Megan and her crew come?” I ask9

“Yeah, they’re around here somewhere” he says10

“Oh” I say11

Then all of a sudden I see Megan walking towards us. Her crew following her. 12

“Wow Ginny, you actually look like a girl” she says13

“Yeah. Surprising how pretty I look huh?” I say14

She laughs. I glare.15

“Matty, will you dance with me?” Megan asks whiningly. 16

“Uhhh….not really Megan. I don’t like dancing” Matt says17

“You use to dance with me all the rime when we went out” she says18

“Yeah….I was stupid” He says19

Megan gasps and stomps away. I laugh and so does Matt. 20

Matt grabs me hand and stands up so I get up too. 21

“You wanna dance?” He asks22

I smile and nod. 23

He leads me onto the wooden floor. He puts his finger up in the air and the music got louder. 24

We dance to 1985 by Bowling for Soup. I sing along too. 25

I see Megan dancing with another jock named Brian. She glances over to us now and then with a disgusted look on her face. 26

Me and Matt just keep dancing during music that I’ve never heard. Rap. God I hate rap. I only like the beats from the rap songs. 27

After a while of dancing I get tired so Matt grabs my hand and leads me out into the backyard. 28

Some people are on the ground making out or talking. 29

“Hey, everyone go inside” Matt says30

Some people groan but they all go inside. 31

He leads me over to a pond in his yard. 32

“You like fish?” He asks. 33

“Yeah, when they are swimming” I say34

He laughs and says “Look in the pond”35

I look into the water and see a big orange and white fish, then another one and another one. 36

“Wow. Those fish are big” I say37

“Yeah. Watch this” Matt says38

He puts his hand in the water and the fish swim over and start brushing against his hand. 39

“They are just like a dog or cat. You can pet them too” he says40

“Cool” I say41

“Here try it.” he says42

I shake my head and then he gabs my hand and puts it into the water still keeping his on mine.43

“There. They won’t hurt you. I promise” he says44

I feel a fish move past my hand and I jump. 45

“Its ok.” Matt says. 46

He lets go of my hand and I wipe it on the grass. 47

He laughs at me and says “Hold on.” He gets up and runs inside. He comes out minutes later with a towel. He hands it to me and I wipe my hand off. He helps me up and I hand him the towel back. 48

“You wanna go back inside?” Matt asks49

“Not really. I like it out here” I say50

“Ok” he says51

We walk over to a swing. 52

We both sit on it and he grabs me hand again. 53

“Ginny, I was wondering. And I know you said you only like me as a friend but I’m just gonna ask. Will you go out with me?” Matt says54

I stare at the ground and then look at Matt. I look into his light blue eyes. 55

“Yes” I say, not being able to control it. 56

“Really?” He says a look of surprise on his face. 57

“Yeah Matt. I’ll go out with you” I say smiling. 58

“Sweet” Matt says then he leans closer to me and kisses me. He pulls away and blushes. Then all of a sudden Shane flashed into my head. He look the same way when he kissed me before he left. I know that Shane is gonna flip when he finds out me and Matt are going out. 59

“Shane isn’t gonna like this” slips out of my mouth. 60

“Oh yeah. I forgot that Shane is like protector of you” Matt says61

“Yeah. All well. I’ll tell him, it’ll be easier on him if I tell him” I say 62

Matt nods. 63

The whole rest of the party me and Matt walk around inside, talking to many people and dancing and having a good time. 64

I glance at my watch. Its 12:40. 65

“Mason is prolly outside for me” I say to Matt66

“Ok. I’ll walk you to the door” Matt says67

He grabs my hand and we walk to the door. 68

“Well bye Ginny, thyanks for coming” Matt says69

“Yeah. I had a good time Matt” I say70

He leans in and kisses me again. This time he doesn’t blush when he pulls away. I open the door and walk to Mason’s car. I get in. 71

“So how was the party?” Mason signs when I get in. 72

“Good. I’m going out with Matt” I sign smiling. 73

Mason smiles at me and signs “Good for you. But if he hurts you in any way I’m gonna kick his ass”
