The Unlucky Me - Chapter 12

When we get there we go into Karley’s favorite store in the mall. I look around and all I see are dresses, and girly stuff. 1

“Lets find you something cute” Karley says. 2

I groan and follow her around.3

She grabs a pink dress and holds it up to me. 4

“You’ve got to be kidding me” I say5

“Ok, no pink. How about blue?” She asks. 6

I nod and she finds me a navy blue dress. 7

“Oooo….I think you’ll like this” she says and holds it up to me. 8

“Its ok” I say looking down at it. 9

“Lets pick out a couple more and then you can go try them on” she says10

I groan again while she grabs dress after dress, holding them up to me and putting some back while she puts the ones she likes into a cart. 11

After she picks out 4 dresses that I like we walk over to the changing room. 12

I try on the navy blue one first. It has thin straps and is a little tight around my thighs. I walk out to show Karley. She looks at me and then makes me walk in it, and turn around. She shakes her head and has me go try on another one. 13

After 3 dresses not fitting me properly, or not feeling right, the 4th was perfect. 14

It is black and is about 1 inch above my knees. It has straps that tie around my neck and then another strap to tie around my waist to make it fit on my stomach. It was pretty. 15

I walk out of the changing room and have Karley tie both straps. She then has me do the whole trying on clothes “routine.”16

“You look beautiful Gin” she says finally. 17

“Thanks. I like it to. And it fits perfectly” I say18

“Ok…lets go find you some shoes now” she says19

“But….I was just gonna wear my adios” I say20

“Oh no no no. You have to have hi-heals with a pretty dress like this, go get dressed now” she says. 21

I groan once again as we head towards the shoes. 22

She grabs a black pair of heals and has me try them on. My legs wobble. 23

“Try walking in them” she says24

I walk about 1 inch and then fall right on my face. 25

“Ouch” I say getting up. 26

“Ok…maybe we should try a pair with a small heal” Karley says trying not to laugh. 27

I glare at her and kick off the shoes. She grabs a pair of black and white shoes with a very small heal. 28

“Here, try these” she says handing me a shoe. I slip it on and then immediately take it off. 29

“Nope. Not gonna work. They hurt my feet” I say30

She sighs and puts them back. 31

“Can’t I just wear a pair of flip flops?” I ask32

“Oh, I never thought of that. Good one Ginny” she says glancing at the rack of flip flops. 33

I breath a sigh of relief and follow her over to the rack. 34

She garbs a pair of black flip flops with fake diamand things on them. 35

I try them on and nod my head. 36

“Good, we’ll get these. They’re cheap and pretty” she says37

I laugh. 38

We walk over to the counter and the lady rings them up. 39

“164.56” says the lady at the counter. 40

“Holy shit” I say immediately putting my hand over my mouth. 41

“Yeah. Dresses aren’t very cheap” says Karley making out a check. 42

She hands the lady at the counter a check and then has to sign something then we leave. 43

“I think this Matt kid will think you look beautiful” Karley says starting up the car.44

“Yeah” I say. “That’s what I’m afraid of” I say under my breath as I turn up the radio. 45

When we get home I look at the clock. The party starts in about 2 hours. 46

I walk upstairs and get in the shower. I put my normal clothes back on and walk into my room. 47

I dry my hair and then walk downstairs carrying my make-up bag. 48

“Kelly, can you do my make-up? You always have pretty make-up on” I say49

“Sure honey” Kelly says. 50

I grab a chair from the kitchen and place it in front of Kelly. I hand her my bag and she digs into it. 51

“What color is your dress?” She asks. 52

“Black” I say53

She nods and says “Well then you’ll prolly need dark make-up” 54

“Ok” I say. 55

She mixes a lot of white with a little black eye shadow. It makes a light gray that is really shiny and pretty. She puts it on. 56

Then she grabs some black eye liner and puts it on the top and bottom on my eyes. She puts on a little bit of blush and finally finishes after a few finishing touches here and there.57

“Ok, You’re done. Now how are you going to do your hair?” she asks. 58

“I was thinking I would just straighten it. I mean I always wore my hair up at school or I just left it wet and down so it would be wavy.” I say. 59

“Ok, go straighten it. But don’t touch your face” she says smiling. 60

“Ok. I won’t” I say smiling back. 61

I run back up stairs and spend about 15 minutes straightening my hair until its perfect. I paint my finger nails and toe nails both black and then change. 62

After all is done it is about 15 minutes till the party. 63

I walk downstairs and mostly all jaws drop. 64

After my mom takes pictures, which I thought was useless, Mason drives me to Matt’s house. 65

“So mom thinks Matt’s parents are home?” Mason signs when we get there. 66

I nod. 67

“Well have fun kid. I’ll be back here at around 12:30 ok?” he signs. 68

I nod again and give him a hug. I open the door and get out. 69

I walk up to the door, take a deep breath and ring the doorbell.
