RAWR

“RAWR!! I’M A PANDA BEAR!!”
“Honey, Panda Bears do not roar. Go to sleep.”
Jessie pouted. She thought for a second then jumped on her bed again.
“RAWR!! I’M A GIRAFFE!”
“Jessie,” her mom was starting to sound annoyed, “giraffes don’t roar either.”
“But mommy, I didn’t roar. I RAWRed!!” Jessie dodged out of her mothers grip and slipped under her bed. “RAWR, I’M A SNAKE!”
“Jessie…” her mom tried to crawl after Jessie, but the bed was too close to the floor, and she couldn’t fit. “Jessie, get out from under the bed, right this instant!”
“So, do snakes RAWR?” Jessie asked, tucking herself into the farthest corner away from her mother.
“They most certainly do not!” Her mom gave up and sat right next to the bed. “Why do you want to know?”
Jessie didn’t answer her mother. Instead, she asked another question.
“Do lions RAWR?”
“Yes, I suppose they do.”
Jessie crawled out from under her bed and obediently got ready for bedtime. Once she was snuggled securely in her blankets, Jessie smiled at her mother.
“Why,” her mom hesitated, but asked, “why did you want to know what goes RAWR, sweetie?”
“Because,” Jessie said, her eyelids already closing, “every night I dream about you being eaten by something that goes RAWR.”

Author notes

All today I was going "RAWR". Since I'm sleepy, I seem to write better. (Weird) Maybe my imagination just works better when I have no conscious thoughts to bother it with.
