The Unlucky Me - Chapter 9

That night Matt called me. We talked on the phone for 2 hours. Karley kicked me off. She said she had to call her friend. 1

The next day I wake up and walk downstairs. 2

Everett and Sydney are playing with Fly. I walk into the living room and sit on the couch. Fly runs over and tries to get up onto the couch. I pick her up and she climbs on top of me licking my face. 3

I laugh and pet her head. 4

“Why does she have to sleep in a cage down here?” asks Sydney getting up and walking towards the couch. 5

“Because she’s not potty trained yet and she chews things” I say6

“Oh…so once she gets potty trained and stops chewing up things she can sleep upstairs.” Says Sydney7

“Maybe. But she’s not sleeping with you Syd.” I say8

“Why not” she wines9

“Because by that time she’ll be too big to fit on your bed with you and plus David got her for ME” I say10

“Oh….ok” Sydney says dropping it. 11

I smile and pick up Fly. I carry her upstairs with me. 12

I walk into my room and set her on my bed. I walk over to my dresser and grab a pair of dark blue sweatpants that say “cutie” on the butt and a light blue tank top. 13

I close the door and get dressed. After that I grab Fly and carry her back downstairs. 14

“Can I take Fly for a walk?” I ask mom. 15

“Sure hun. The leash and collar are on the top of the washer.” mom says16

I walk into the laundry room/shoe and coat room and grab the leash and collar. I put Fly down and put everything on. 17

I walk to the door, Fly following. 18

We walk down to the park. 19

I take her off her leash in the baseball field and let her run around. 20

I sit down on the grass and watch Fly run around. I see 5 girls from my grade walking towards. They’re names Megan, Courtney, Hillary, Nicci and Kayla. They are all popular and don’t like me. 21

“Hey Ginny” Megan says22

“Uhhh…hi” I say23

“Cute puppy” she says24

“Thanks” I say. I stand up and Fly runs over to me. I pick her up and clip the leash on her. 25

“Can I pet it?” Megan asks26

I nod. 27

“Her name is Fly” I say28

Megan puts her hand up to Fly and Fly sniffs her hand and then bites it. 29

“Ouch” says Megan30

“Sorry. Fly has chewing and biting problems” I say grinning31

“Whatever. Lets go girls.” Megan says “We have to go walk around. So we actually have a good figure unlike you” adds Courtney. 32

I glare at her and say “I have a good figure. I run everyday instead of sitting my fat ass on the computer talking to boys” I say33

“Yeah ok. At least we talk to boys not just ONE. And people don’t think we’re lezes like think you are” Kayla says.34

“I talk to more than one boy….” I say stopping to look behind all the girls. Matt is walking towards us with flyers in his hand.35

“Matt” comes out of my mouth and All of the girls turn around. 36

“Mattie……there you are” says Megan walking towards him and wrapping her arms around his neck. 37

“Uhh…hi Megan” Matt says and pushes her arms off him. “Here” he says and hands her flyer. 38

“A PARTY!! AT YOUR HOUSE!!” yells Megan. 39

“Yup” says Matt handing a flyer to Courtney, Kayla, Nicci and Hillary also. Then he hands me one and smiles at me. 40

“Why are you giving HER one?” asks Megan41

“Because she’s invited” Matt says42

“Who would invite HER?” asks Kayla43

“ME. And if you girls have a problem with her coming then don’t come. Its that simple” says Matt. “Cute puppy” he says to me44

“Thanks. Her name is Fly” I say smiling.45

“Hey Matt….” says Megan walking towards him and linking her arm on his. “You wanna come walk around with us. We are bored with no boys around” she says46

“Sorry. I’m busy. I have to hand out flyers to people and plus I was wondering if Ginny would help me” Matt says then he looks at me. 47

“Sure. I have to drop off Fly first though” I say48

“Ok” Matt says. I put Fly on the ground, me and Matt start walking towards the road. 49

The look on Megan’s face was priceless. She had a look of confusion, astonishment, and anger on her face. I just couldn’t stop smiling. 50

We walk to my house and into it. David and mom are sitting in the living room watching TV. Jimmy and Karley and Mason are in the kitchen playing a game of Poker. Everett and Sydney are on the floor. Everett is watching TV and Sydney is asleep. 51

I let Fly off her leash and she runs right to Everett. 52

“Mom, can I go for a walk with Matt?” I ask53

“Sure hun. Just be home by 5:30 ok?” she says54

“Ok” I say and walk out. Matt waits for me outside.
